∎ Line Manager: Education Team Leader
∎ Location: Rohingya camps
∎ Overall purposes of the role: With the support of the Team Leader, the Education Facilitator will plan and conduct lessons for adolescent and youth women and girls. The lessons will cover literacy & numeracy, life skills and skills development training (e.g. tailoring, sewing, soap making, vegetable growing) and will be conducted in co-shared, female-only spaces and through a home-based approach.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Planning and implementation :
∎ Facilitate and lead literacy and numeracy as well as life skills and livelihood classes for adolescents and youth in female-only spaces and through an outreach approach
∎ Prepare lesson plans and conduct regular assessments on students' learning based on curriculum.
∎ Ensure active engagement of students.
∎ Ensure that activities are conducted in agreement with operational guidelines, sector standards and are culturally appropriate.
∎ Assist the Team Leader with the day-to-day operations.
∎ Maintain a respectful and welcoming atmosphere with learners, volunteers, and fellow facilitators while conducting the lessons.
∎ Provide the attendees with information regarding the available services in the camps.
∎ Engage with wider communities to promote educational activities.
∎ Track and report on attendance of the different activities.
∎ Support the Team Leaders in the submission of various project reports
∎ Ensure respectful, collaborative, and cooperative approach with Rohingya Volunteer Teachers while executing Lesson Plans.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 23 years
∎ Please note that due to the nature of the position, only FEMALE candidates will be considered for this position
∎ 1-2 years relevant working experience; preferable in teaching/training.
∎ Proficiency in the local dialect and/or Rohingya required, Proficiency in English and Burmese language desirable
∎ Experience conducting classes, ideally with women and adolescent girls, following designated curriculum
∎ Experience and/or knowledge in keeping learners engaged using interactive communication and teaching approaches
∎ Understanding of the situation of the Rohingya population and issues the female population faces.
∎ Undertake other duties that may be determined by the supervisor.
∎ Good team work and strong organizational skills.
∎ Pro-active with an ability to think analytically, identifying opportunities and mechanisms to broaden programming
∎ Self-starter and take initiative
∎ Results oriented
∎ Excellent planning and organizational skills
∎ Ability to problem solve and good decision making skills
