Job Context:
∎ CONTRACT PERIOD: Up to 31 December 2023, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funding.
∎ LINE MANAGER: Cash Distribution and Field Monitoring Assistant

∎ OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
∎ DCA (DanChurchAid) is a Danish humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organisation working in Bangladesh since 1971. DCA (DanChurchAid) is a faith-based, non-missionary organization. We work for the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded communities and believe in life before death.
∎ This position is responsible for the WFP Climate-smart homestead vegetable gardening project. Main duties include Beneficiary selection, training facilitation, field-level activity supervision, and volunteers` supervision. beneficiary guidance, take attendance, support MEAL team, day-to-day information, increase awareness of the beneficiaries about their entitlements, and increase their information on various issues that regularly affect their lives, regularly communicate with the target project participants, and mobilize them to support the project activities. Especially facilitates trainings and mentoring for Climate smart homestead vegetable gardening. The incumbent needs to move to the camp and field offices by using project vehicle from the Cox`s Bazar.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To prepare daily, weekly, and monthly activity plan
∎ Facilitated trainings and mentoring for Climate-smart homestead vegetable gardening
∎ Follow up on homestead vegetable gardening, keep attendance in MODA and provide suggestions
∎ Door-to-door visits and monitoring in camps
∎ Responsible to keep all types of reporting and documentation
∎ Inform and support CBT and finance for actual attendance for the project participants etc.
∎ Perform any project related task assigned by the supervisor and project team
∎ Provide on the spot support in the field as of need
∎ Willing and ready to work in any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere
∎ Attend training courses, meetings, and workshops to update knowledge and skills as assigned and disseminatenew knowledge/ information/lessons learnt
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
∎ In case of any emergency, be prepared to contribute to the delivery of an appropriate and timely response
Additional Requirements:
∎ Willingness to visit field frequently as/when required
∎ Understanding of Chittagonian language will be an advantage
∎ Proficiency in computer software like MS Office Package
∎ Experience of working in complex environments and positive attitude to work with the team in any situation
∎ The candidate must have a personal commitment to social equity and equal rights and opportunities and adhere to the staff policies of DCA on Sexual Harassment and Anti-Corruption, values and the Code of Conduct
