∎ Director of Operations:
∎ As the Director of Operations of Novo Nordisk Bangladesh, you will drive Operations, Business Planning, IT, Logistics and other local strategies for the Bangladesh affiliate as per business need and in line with directions from the Regional office. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining strong professional relationship with key external stakeholders, ensuring seamless supply of life saving medicine, delivering institutional sales targets and managing local manufacturing activities. You will also ensure that functions in the Affiliate understand and follow standards and processes which are constantly updated in response to changes in regulations, laws and industry (or other) trends that may impact the business and are often challenged and scrutinized by authorities.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Operations & Business Planning
∎ Analyse industry information, prepare and submit medium term alternate financial plans
∎ Jointly decide on medium term business action plans, financial viabilities of new investments, pricing changes with HO
∎ Prepare annual budget and seek approval
∎ Jointly rationalize sales and investment plans based on approved financial budgets
∎ Monitor progress against plans
∎ Devise IT systems to support business decisions of function heads, control variances
∎ Take corrective actions in order to ensure profitable growth for Novo Nordisk Bangladesh
∎ Plan for product availability at optimal inventory levels
∎ Review sales performance,
∎ Monitor status of receivable, cash flow management, develop cash earnings ratio
∎ Liaise with partners and modify production plans accordingly
∎ Interact with bankers for competitive rate of interest, analyze long term financial projections for the company and arrive at a financing structure for Novo Nordisk in order to sustain financial stability of Novo Nordisk and ensure optimum utilization of resources
∎ Procurement and Sourcing
∎ Ensure negotiating with the suppliers tactfully.
∎ Generate sourcing savings.
∎ Ensure contracts in place for top 10 vendors with targeted contract coverage
∎ Acting as a Risk Coordinator for Risk Management withholding and corporate taxation.
∎ Handle Implement the best practice of business process in order to have efficient business processes
∎ Local Manufacturing
∎ Follow up and dealing with the local manufacturer
∎ Perform all the legal works with the help of regional office and the local manufacturer
∎ Analyse the raw material requirements and pricing of the same
∎ Inventory management for the production, stock report, decide on inventory norms and finalize ordering of finished products
∎ Liaise with C & F agents or local manufacturer for customs clearance and transfer to central warehouse,
∎ Address queries of customs authorities and monitor compliance to set norms
∎ Monitor inventory levels of local manufacturers' raw materials and coordinate with NN A/S for timely and adequate supplies in order to ensure uninterrupted production at partner's manufacturing facility
∎ Accounting, Taxation and secretarial works
∎ Monitor accounts and transactions on a monthly basis
∎ Identify critical issues of non-conformities
∎ Supervise timely reconciliations
∎ Drive implementation of financial policies in Novo Nordisk as per parent company standards
∎ Liaise with auditors and close open issues in order to ensure updated accounting practices
∎ Handle withholding and corporate taxation.
∎ Submit tax questionnaire
∎ Ensure submission of Tax returns and VAT returns
∎ Plan taxation and liaison with tax consultant regarding tax assessment.
∎ Acting as a Risk Coordinator for Risk Management withholding and corporate taxation.
∎ Perform necessary secretarial work with the help of the Regional Office in order to comply with the Companies Acts 1994
∎ Logistics
∎ Follow up with the logistic function
∎ Calculating and uploading and follow up of orders, follow up imports and stock.
∎ Follow up with the distributor, independent importer or purchaser (BIRDEM Hospital) and local manufacturers in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of products.
∎ Distribution Management
∎ Negotiate commercial terms related to distribution with respective partners
∎ Obtain territory level sales forecasts, plan for supply and distribution accordingly
∎ Handle emergency requirements of products
∎ Communication with the distributor on different relevant issues
∎ Prepare MIS on realizations, expiries, receivables, bad debts, approve credit limits of chemists in order to ensure timely available of products at point of sale
∎ Digital, Data & Information Technology
∎ Fulfil all requirements for IT equipment and ensure strict compliance with IT code of conduct
∎ Ensure implementation of different IT projects initiated by the Regional Office
∎ Serves as an escalation point for customer or other IT Service areas issues and concerns in order to ensure smooth IT operation and infrastructure & Security
∎ People Management
∎ Set targets and communicate expected standards
∎ Identify training need and nominate team members for training programs in order to ensure performance driven work environment
∎ Institution Business
∎ Ensure supply to BIRDEM hospital
∎ Drive activities to ensure tender business
∎ Lead institution business team

Additional Requirements:
∎ Mmnimum 8 years of experience in a large company with global outlook. Should have handled P&L responsibilities and is currently a team manager. Possess very good knowledge of Novo Nordisk processes and policies, extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical regulation and business transactions in the region, understanding and knowledge of systems (SAP R/3) and Data warehouse systems (BW), very good planning and analysis skills, structured task approach, good negotiation and interpersonal skills; have a quality mind-set, be customer oriented and constructive and challenging team member; demonstrate excellent communication skills, active listening; interpersonal skills; sound judgment and decision making, strong proven ability to act as a change agent within the organization and strong personal and professional ethical values, integrity and the energy level required to meet the demands of the position
∎ Compliance with Novo Nordisk principles and internal legal laws and to defend company interests. Nevertheless, as a requirement of the business ethics; to defend the confidentiality of the Company's as well as the patients' secrets, business plans, ideas and strategies against third parties.
∎ The job requires traveling to Regional Office and headquarters to discuss various issues, initiatives, and implementation of agreed decisions. Estimated 3 travels per year (BASEA Regional Office and IO/HQ).

Salary:
∎ Annual Salary (including festival bonus): BDT 7,000,000
