Responsibilities & Context:

Productivity Enhancement in Manufacturing

  • Manage improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency, cost, product quality, and worker safety by analyzing current methods, new technologies, and cost reduction activities.

  • Support process enhancement initiatives to drive continuous quality improvement across the company.

Oversee IE section activities and ensure industrial engineering techniques are applied effectively in manufacturing processes.

  • Take steps to minimize wastage and loss in all operating areas.

  • Improve productivity and efficiency through Method Study, Method Re-engineering, Motion Study, Time Study, and Line Balancing.

  • Calculate non-productive time, reduce defects and wastage, and ensure proper machine layout.

  • Identify bottlenecks, technical difficulties, and quality issues.

  • Prepare production layouts for effective utilization of manpower, machines, and materials; analyze productivity and calculate efficiency.

  • Implement innovations to reduce cost and increase productivity.

  • Adopt best industrial engineering practices for efficiency and resource optimization.

  • Analyze root causes of low production and clarify lost time.

  • Monitor line-wise hourly output and study operator performance.

  • Measure KPIs and present weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.

  • Drive monthly and yearly KAIZEN initiatives.

  • Train line chiefs, supervisors, and production officers on productivity improvement and maintain 5S.

  • Prepare paper layout and SMV, set daily line targets, update operator skill matrix, and maintain SMV database.

  • Provide marketing SMV and thread consumption data to Merchandising.

  • Strive for maximum output using minimum resources.


Plant Layout and Process Flow Improvement

  • Design equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize plant utilization and mitigate risks.

  • Develop metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity and identify bottlenecks.

  • Manage overall CAPEX plan to prevent capacity loss due to inefficiencies.


Enhance Manpower Productivity

  • Evaluate worker productivity and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.

  • Suggest optimal headcount and machine matrix for factories and ensure full utilization of resources.

  • Implement balancing procedures for equal work distribution and accurate manpower allocation.


Manage Automation Projects

  • Research, select, and implement automated robotic systems in the factory.


Innovation, Continuous Improvement & Standardization

  • Establish and update manufacturing SOPs.

  • Drive innovation in operations; develop new workflows and technologies to exceed customer expectations.

  • Conduct studies and comparisons for proposals on machinery, equipment, and systems.

  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams and embed improvement culture.

  • Develop best practice sharing platforms and encourage adoption across the organization.

  • Align and standardize best practices as new operational standards.

  • Train trainers (TTT) and certify IE engineers to follow standard roles, tools, and KPIs.


Leadership and Team Development

  • Set annual goals, operating plans, and budgets; measure results and adjust focus areas as needed.

  • Define strategic and operational directions for teams to achieve goals.

  • Oversee departmental workload and provide guidance on operational issues.

  • Offer continuous feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support training for improvement.

  • Upgrade team skillsets to meet management expectations.

  • Develop stretch goals to drive results and enhance team quality.

  • Build effective teams through talent identification and development.
