Experience:
Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or Textile Design
2–6 years of experience in knit garment design and merchandising
Experience working with export buyers is preferred
Strong knowledge of knit fabrics, garment construction, and fit
Understanding of costing, consumption, and merchandising processes
Knowledge of buyer compliance and quality standards
Strong communication and coordination skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Detail-oriented with a commercial mindset
Team player with problem-solving ability

AKH Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. is a 100% export oriented Knit Composite Factory and it’s a sister concern of AKH Group. We are looking an experienced energetic and dynamic designer for Knit Garments in Design and merchandising team. Designer is responsible for developing knitwear designs aligned with buyer requirements, market trends, costing targets, and production feasibility. The role acts as a bridge between design, merchandising, sampling, and production to ensure timely and commercially viable knit garment development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop knit garment designs as per buyer briefs, seasonal trends, and brand guidelines
Create design concepts, mood boards, color stories, and fabric selections
Prepare detailed tech packs including measurements, construction details, trims, and embellishments
Coordinate with sampling teams to ensure accurate sample development
Review fit, construction, and aesthetics of samples and suggest improvements
Work closely with merchandising teams to align designs with costing and delivery timelines
Assist in product range planning and line development for buyers
Ensure designs meet target price points without compromising quality or aesthetics
Support buyer presentations, design meetings, and approvals
Select appropriate knit fabrics (single jersey, interlock, rib, fleece, etc.)
Coordinate with fabric and trim sourcing teams for new developments
Ensure fabric performance, shrinkage, GSM, and color fastness meet buyer standards
Communicate clearly with production teams regarding design intent and construction details
Address design-related issues during bulk production
Ensure final garments match approved samples and specifications
Research global knitwear trends, silhouettes, colors, and fabric innovations
Analyze competitor products and buyer preferences
Incorporate trend insights into commercially viable designs
