- Knowledge About Different Types Of Rubbers –both variety of Natural rubber and synthetic rubbers – its specialty and usage .
- Chemistry of rubbers and knowledge of accurate proportion of natural and synthetic rubbers for making a better, sustainable and long lasting compounds.
Responsibilities & Context:
- Process validation of all new compounds to achieve desire compound properties with smooth processing and optimized manufacturing efficiency.
- Means and ways to make alternative compounds and alternative chemicals to make cost effective compounds without sacrificing the quality of end product·
- Knowledge of various chemicals used in rubber compounds – like-Accelerators,- types fast , slow medium and its usages.
- Fillers ( both black and non black ) its kind and appropriate usages.
- Activators – both single and combined.
- Oils – paraffinic , naphthenic and aromatics – its dosage and usage .
- Antioxidants and antiozonant’s its usage and dosage. Curing agents both soluble and insoluble and other than sulpher.
- Raisins various types usage and dosage.
- Knowledge on mixing equipment’s like Banbury, Kneaders, intermix and its advantages over other·
- Basic knowledge of main process equipment’s like Extruders , Calanders , bead curing process·
- Knowledge of compound characteristics to co-relate physical properties of the compound·
- To be able to identify the process problems with compound properties and to be able to adjust them·
- Knowledge on various rubbers and chemical testing to determine the purity and Active % of chemicals·
- To be able to identify the compound related problems by analyzing field return tyres·
- Well versed with dynamic properties of compounds especially related to Modulus, stress/strain factors, modulus variations in different layers of tyres like ply to ply – ply to breaker- and ply to tread etc EB, compression and elongation etc.
- To be able to modify the compounds based on various seasons like summer winter and rainy seasons.
- Knowledge on mixing cycles, mixing sequence and mixing time and temperature based mixing
