Core technical requirements (must have)
Strong hands-on capability in land due diligence: title verification, ownership history checks, identifying gaps/risks, and issuing written legal opinions/clearance
Proven ability to draft/review and finalize land instruments (e.g., development/land agreements, deed-related documentation, irrevocable/general power of attorney, supplementary agreements, MoU as needed) and ensure proper execution/registration
Practical working knowledge of property/land laws and registration processes, including government office liaison (Sub-Registry, land offices; RAJUK liaison often required in the sector)
Ability to coordinate litigation/case follow-up with external counsels and maintain case documentation and updates for management
Working knowledge of labour law / Department of Labour matters as applicable to company
Proficiency in MS Office; strong drafting quality; Bangla typing/document drafting capability is often preferred for land/legal documentation
Lead section delivery and team performance by coaching subordinates, supervising outputs, and allocating work to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution.
Support land acquisition through stakeholder engagement by attending meetings with the Land Section and landowners, clarifying legal requirements, and guiding next steps to avoid delays/disputes.
Ensure document readiness for legal clearance by collecting required papers from landowners (as needed), coordinating Land Department follow-up, and confirming completeness/authenticity before vetting.
Conduct due diligence and issue legal opinions by vetting land papers from the Land Section, identifying risks/gaps, recommending corrective actions, and providing written clearance/legal views.
Obtain external vetting where required by engaging legal consultants/external counsels (including foreign counsel when applicable), consolidating inputs, and advising internal stakeholders on implementation.
Negotiate, draft, and finalize land instruments including land agreements, Powers of Attorney, supplementary agreements, and MoUs (as applicable), ensuring protection of company interests and agreed terms.
Execute and register documents by coordinating signing and arranging registration of deeds/instruments, including supplementary agreements and Am-Moktarnama, ensuring statutory compliance.
Resolve acquisition/documentation bottlenecks by liaising with relevant government/registry offices to address incomplete/inconsistent/disputed documents and closing issues through follow-up.
Coordinate litigation and monitor case progress by working with appointed counsels in Judge Court/High Court, tracking proceedings, ensuring timely filings/actions, and providing updates to stakeholders.
Provide labour/regulatory legal support on matters involving the Department of Labour, ensuring compliant responses and follow-through.
Maintain records, reporting, and document inventories by updating land/project files, preparing periodic status reports, and sorting/cataloguing old and new project land documents for audit readiness.
Represent Legal and handle special assignments by attending management meetings, supporting special legal tasks as directed, and travelling within/outside Dhaka with senior leadership when required.
