Experience:
10+ years in the shipping industry and 2 Years as Master of a ocean going vessel and preferably with shore based experience.
Play a pivotal role in integrating sustainability practices into Akij Resources, driving environmental responsibility, and fostering a culture of social and ethical consciousness.
Drive and implement operational excellence initiatives to optimize efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance overall organizational performance within Akij Resources.
Develop and implement strategic plans for efficient shipping operations in alignment with organizational goals.
Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for improvement.
Monitor sea passage and coordinate vessel readiness and preparations.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with vessels, agents, shippers, receivers and charterers.
Monitor and control operational expenses to ensure cost-efficiency
Ensure compliance with current policies, including insurance requirements and agreement confirmations.
Identify and assess operational risks, implement measures to mitigate potential unforeseen challenges in shipping operations.
Oversee agency handling and Liaison with agencies to ensure smooth loading and discharging operations.
Conduct briefings for vessel masters and chief engineers.
Validate bunker estimation, planning and requirements from vessels and finalize the RFQ and negotiation process.
Plan activities including Lighter vessel allocation, unloading, monitoring, and quick release.
