Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, or similar.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Monitoring and performing on-going maintenance on servers and network equipment.
∎
∎ Provide systems availability and diagnostics monitoring and escalation services.
∎
∎ Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables.
∎
∎ Protecting company data by preventing the overheating of data center components.
∎ Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts in a timely manner.
∎ Monitoring all network processes to ensure the smooth flow of data across the network.
∎ Collaborating with Data Center System Administrator on cybersecurity, network and system efficiency.
∎ Documenting processes and keeping event logs.
∎ Implement designs for WAN/LAN architectures, oversee network traffic analysis, bandwidth and advice modification to the network configuration as per cost efficiency.
∎ Monitor and perform administrative duties on multiple platforms consisting of, but not limited to: Solaris, Linux, AIX, Windows Servers 2016/2019, IIS, MSSQL and Microsoft environments.
∎ Installation and Monitoring of Servers, Storage Devices and Network Routers, Switches, Gateways, Firewalls, as required by various groups.
∎ Installation and Monitoring PDU's PSU's.
∎ Work with Storage Units: Del EMC, NetApp, HPE, etc
∎ Provide 24/7 on-call coverage on rotating schedule.
∎ Install / Replace hot swappable drives in devices as requested.
∎ Assess and prioritize security audit findings and recommend appropriate mitigations.
∎ Perform hands-on threat modeling, risk assessment, and manufacturing security validation.
∎ Perform routine Data Center environment checks.
∎ Perform monthly rack audits of all Data Center devices.
∎ Provide escorting/oversight for Vendors working in the Data Center.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 3+ years of experience as a Data Center Engineer, or similar.
∎ RHCSA/RHCE, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, CEH/ECSA certification would be advantageous.
∎ In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
∎ Extensive experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.
∎ An understanding of network concepts such as OSI Layers, routing and subnets, encryption, and DNS.
∎ Experience with security assessment frameworks (NIST, CIS Top 20, OWASP, ISO 27000 series)
∎ Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide IT support, and resolve errors.
∎ Ability to keep up with advancements in data center infrastructure and technologies.
∎ Exceptional communication skills.
∎ Willingness to respond to network and server errors after hours.
