Educational Requirements:
∎ Master’s of Agriculture preferably in Agronomy and horticulture from any recognized Universities in Bangladesh.
Experience Requirements:
∎ 5 to 7 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead all necessary preparatory work for the project inception.
∎ Conduct collaborative research with Agriculture Universities or Agriculture research institutes to find out an appropriate dose of biochar or biochar plus composts in different crops.
∎ Ensure all relevant permission from respective departments for marketing of biochar and biochar enriched fertilizers at country level.
∎ Coordinate the Biochar project and finalize an appropriate dose of biochar or biochar plus composts in the different crop for the farmers.
∎ To develop efficient biochar producer groups ad linkage them with a sustainable marketing system.
∎ Meeting with producer groups and discuss about the prospective area and channel for increasing consumption of bio char or bio char enriched fertilizers.
∎ Organize meeting with Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) for collaborative initiatives for marketing and extension of biochar enriched fertilizers at various locations in the country.
∎ Meeting with demonstration groups and make proper guidelines for the demonstration groups to attract neighbor’s farmers for using bio char and bio char enriched fertilizers.
∎ Meeting with traders for bigger sale of biochar and biochar enriched fertilizers at different locations in the country.
∎ Develop linkage with appropriate companies marketing biochar or biochar enriched fertilizers.
∎ Meeting with companies who can use biochar as raw materials for their products.
∎ Work closely with national or international consultant of carbon reduction expertise to transform the project into low carbon emission project.
∎ Design effective plan for expanding biochar stoves at different locations in the country.
∎ Provide overall supervision and leadership to the project team.
∎ Plan the activities of the project and monitor progress against set indicators
∎ Prepare project progress reports, information releases, as well as monitoring and review.
∎ Prepare reports in accordance with donor’s guideline;
∎ Prepare project budget and administrative arrangements as required by the donors
∎ Ensure periodically coordination meetings and clear work planning, the effective execution of activities by the project staff
∎ Ensure all financial and procurement procedures, in accordance with CCDB’s rules and regulations.
∎ Monitor financial resources and accounting to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reports.
∎ Present the learning of the project to the donors as well, as at any international event.
∎ Accompany donor representatives on their visits to selected project sites.
∎ Prepare and ensure that the Project M&E plan is implemented
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 5 years of relevant working experience on fertilizer or seed marketing in Bangladesh.
∎ Experience in working with farmers regarding demonstration and organizing field day with collaboration of local agriculture department.
∎ Communications experience and advocacy skills are preferred.
∎ At least 15 days travel at project and other locations in Bangladesh.
∎ Fluent in English speaking English.
∎ Has the capacity to write quality English report.
Salary: Tk. 60000 - 65000 (Monthly)
