Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelors with minimum two years of community mobilization experience. University degree in Social Science, Legal Studies, Political Science, Anthropology, Psychology, Humanities Studies, or other related fields would be an advantage.
Job Context:
∎ Organization: IOM (International Organization for Migration)
∎ Job Location:Willing to work anywhere in Cox`s Bazar (Ukhiya, Teknaf, Ramu and Moheshkhali)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Maintain close communication with different community members, including with community leaders and influencers to initiate and implement livelihoods and Disaster Risk Reduction projects in IOM's target communities.
∎ Participate in Community Engagement (consultation, awareness raising, beneficiary selection with Livelihoods, DRR perspectives, monitor Implementing Partners activities and report to respective supervisors on regular basis.
∎ Participate in assessment of eligibility of livelihoods, DRR beneficiaries for different supports within the programme according to set criteria and ensure inclusion of most EVIs (Elderly, Women, Children, Persons with Disability).
∎ Facilitate different awareness raising meetings, and organize training sessions, workshops, communication platforms, etc.
∎ Support the implementation of community-based and social cohesion activities including campaign and participating in FGDs, KIIS with other UN Partners/Implementing partners for Community Safety Project.
∎ Coordinate with programme support unit of Livelihoods, DRR units for taking guidance on documentations, administration, finance and procurement related guidance.
∎ Assist in data collection, collation and maintaining beneficiary's records. Compile short stories, case studies, and reflections from targeted beneficiaries
∎ Participate in other project assessments, surveys, and monitoring activities with target communities when required.
∎ Liaise and coordinate with relevant government officials and other DRR/ Livelihoods actors in the field to ensure synchronize and harmonize approach on the supports provided to the communities.
∎ Foster an atmosphere of solidarity and unity within the beneficiaries; and adhere to the principals of 'Do no Harm' throughout the project implementation process.
∎ Provide support to the programme/ monitoring team while performing their activities in the field.
∎ Strictly adhere to the IOM Standards of conducts
∎ Perform such other duties as may be assigned including assessment of natural disaster cases and distribution of supports to affected people as may be required
Additional Requirements:
∎ Work experience with international/national humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization would be an added value
∎ Excellent communication, representative and interpersonal skills; culturally sensitive and ability to work in a team setting.
∎ Works effectively in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments, ability to multitask, pays attention to details, meets deadlines, maintain accuracy in performing responsibilities.
∎ Strong coordination and liaison skill
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English is required.
∎ Knowledge of local dialect (Chittagonian) is mandatory
Salary:
∎ Monthly gross salary for this position is BDT 61880.33
