Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelors with minimum of 2/two years of experience on community mobilization. University degree in Geography, Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Social Science, Legal Studies, Political Science, Anthropology, Psychology, Humanities Studies, or other related fields is an advantage

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Carry out community mobilization activities to promote social cohesion, livelihoods, and disaster risk reduction community participation, and to provide opportunity for the community to understand and influence the key decisions in the projects from the initial stage until the completion of the projects:
∎ Maintain close communication and coordination with different community members, including the community leaders, Cyclone Shelter Management Committee Members, Ward, Union and Upazila Disaster Committee Members and other influencers to initiate and implement Disaster Risk Reduction Activities for IOM's targeted communities.
∎ Engage targeted communities in discussion on the modality of the DRR support to be provided, data collection on various DRR intervention needs, selection of DRR interventions, monitoring of the field level activities and report to respective supervisors on regular basis.
∎ Participate in assessing the needs of different people for providing different supports within the programme according to set criteria and ensure inclusion of most EVIs (Elderly, Women, Children, Persons with Disability).
∎ Support the implementation of community-based and social cohesion activities including campaign and participating in FGDs, KIIS with other local stakeholders/partners for DRR activities.
∎ Coordinate with programme support unit of DRR for taking guidance on documentation, administration, finance, and procurement.
∎ Assist in data collection, collation and maintaining beneficiary's records. Compile short stories, case studies, and reflections from targeted beneficiaries throughout the entire project cycle.
∎ Participate in other project assessments, surveys, and monitoring activities with target communities when required.
∎ Liaise and coordinate with relevant government officials and other DRR actors in the field to ensure synchronize and harmonize approach on the supports provided to the communities.
∎ Foster an atmosphere of solidarity and unity within the beneficiaries; and adhere to the principals of 'Do No Harm' throughout the project implementation process.
∎ Provide support to the programme/monitoring team while performing their activities in the field.
∎ Strictly adhere to the IOM Standards of conducts.
∎ Perform such other duties as may be assigned including assessment of natural hazard events and distribution of response and recovery support to affected people as may be required.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Work experience with international/national humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization would be an added value.
∎ Excellent communication, representative and interpersonal skills; culturally sensitive and ability to work in a team setting.
∎ Works effectively in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments, ability to multitask, pays attention to details, meets deadlines, maintain accuracy in performing responsibilities.
∎ Strong coordination and liaison skills.
∎ Compensation & Benefit: Monthly gross salary for this position is BDT 61,880.33.
∎ Language:
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English is required. Knowledge of local dialect (Chittagonian) is mandatory
