Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Training Content Development: Design and adapt comprehensive training curriculums and materials tailored to the diverse needs of target communities, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and Gonoshasthaya Kendra's organizational protocols. Employ modern participatory training methodologies and adult learning principles to maximize engagement and ensure that training materials are culturally appropriate and sensitive to the local context.
∎ Training Facilitation: Plan, organize, and conduct training sessions for volunteers, utilizing effective facilitation techniques. Conduct revision sessions for participants to reinforce learning from external training. Act as a translator during international online training sessions facilitated by foreign trainers.
∎ Training Center Oversight: Ensure the smooth operation and functionality of the Training Center, overseeing all aspects of its maintenance, resources, scheduling, and logistical needs.
∎ Logistics Management: Manage logistics for training events, including venue preparation, participant registration, and materials distribution.  II. CHW/CHNW/CNV Support and Supervision:
∎ On-the-Job Training and Feedback: Provide ongoing on-the-job training, coaching, and constructive feedback to CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs, adhering to the training calendar and responding to individual needs.
∎ Household-Level Supervision: Conduct regular shadow visits with CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs at the household level, using a standardized checklist to monitor and improve performance.
∎ Home Visit Support: Provide support and guidance to CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs on home visits to households with vulnerable or sick members, promoting improved household-based care practices and delivering individual or group counseling on preventive health measures.
∎ Community Forum Orientation: Organize and facilitate orientation sessions for community forums on priority health topics, as required and under the guidance of the Community Health Coordinator and in collaboration with CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs/CHWG (Community Health Worker Group).
∎ Health Education Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and monitor weekly health education sessions conducted by CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs, ensuring adherence to established guidelines, and provide mentorship during community-level sessions at least once per month.
∎ Emergency Assistance and Referral: Assist CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs in managing emergency patient situations, and facilitating timely referrals to clinicians for appropriate treatment and care.
∎ Inter-sectoral Coordination: Coordinate and support CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs in collaborating with different units within the health center and other relevant sectors for activities such as health education, defaulter tracing, and referrals.
∎ IEC Material Utilization: Ensure the effective and appropriate use of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials during regular health education sessions.
∎ Meeting Organization: Organize and facilitate regular meetings with participants, facilitators, and other stakeholders to promote communication, collaboration, and program effectiveness.III. Performance Management and Problem Solving:
∎ Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor training participants' performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills. Maintain accurate training records, including participant evaluations and training outcomes. Generate periodic reports on training activities and their impact on community health practices.
∎ Performance Improvement: Help improve the working quality and overall performance of CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs.
∎ Problem-Solving: Help in solving the problems that CHWs/CHNWs/CNVs raise in the meeting.Special Note:
∎ Carry out any additional assignment in accordance with her/his position entrusted by the Facility Manager and Community Health Coordinator of GK from time to time and mutually agreed upon;
∎ Management may, at any point in time, modify this job description as it is deemed necessary in Gonoshasthaya Kendra's interests in consultation with the incumbent.
∎ Because of the emergency relief nature of GK’s work, working hours may be irregular and employees are expected to be flexible in their approach to working hours under emergency conditions.
∎ The employee must respect the timetable, terms, and conditions of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and should always be available to respond to an emergency.
∎ Background:
∎ Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) was founded in 1972 on two core principles: 'the fate of the poor decides the fate of the country' and 'the development of the country depends on the development of women.' Since 2017, GK and UNHCR have partnered to address the Rohingya crisis in Cox's Bazar and Bhasan Char. Recognized for its long-standing commitment to improving community health and nutrition services, Gonoshasthaya Kendra seeks a dynamic Supervisor to lead capacity-building initiatives and ensure the effective delivery of health and nutrition training programs. The Supervisor will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate impactful training programs aligned with national guidelines and GK's protocols.
∎ Purpose of the Position:
∎ The supervisor is tasked with enhancing the competencies of community health and nutrition volunteers through participatory training methodologies and effective program facilitation. This position will ensure that training sessions are culturally sensitive and aligned with the specific needs of target communities, fostering sustainable improvement in health and nutrition practices.
