Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Motivate and ensure teamwork among women and girl's safe spaces and A&YC volunteers for greater project impact, in the community
∎ Work with A&YC management, service providers, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
∎ Take full responsibility for quality implementation of A&YC related activity, GBV activities including implementation of GBV comprehensive programming in field levels program implementation.
∎ Coordinate with all sector-based agencies in the A&YCs to ensure compliance with inter-agency and Educo standards for implementing GBV in emergencies as well as gender mainstreaming.
∎ Organize meetings with youth, women/men to ensure effective participation and support in the respective project activities
∎ Develop regular monthly, quarterly and annual project management documents including implementation plans and reports.
∎ Actively support pre-distribution activities for dignity kit distribution i.e. beneficiary assessment and sensitization.
∎ Enhance and train women, men, community leaders, religious leaders, boys and girls on GBV prevention and response.
∎ Safely link up survivors who wish to disclose and seek support for their GBV experiences with GBV case management services offered at the women's space.
∎ Disseminate information to the community on where and how to report GBV incidences and encourage reporting
∎ Document and share key GBV risks identified during the implementation
∎ Engage the community in participatory exercises to develop context-specific IEC materials and messages to facilitate community-level sessions.
∎ Assist communities to identify their priorities, opportunities and resources for effective GBV prevention & response, participation and psychosocial project implementation.
∎ Organize the awareness-raising, campaign event/program at the communities level in the A&YC area coordinating with different stakeholders

SAINT-Bangladesh is seeking a professional for the position of Community Facilitator for the project titled “Combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through Adolescents and Youth Empowerment” funded by EDUCO and the project has been implemented at Barishal Sador Upazilla in Barishal district from January 2023 to December 2025. Note that this requirement will depend on the availability of donor funds.
∎ Project Summary:
∎ The Project will envisage preventing gender-based violence (GBV) through Adolescents and Youth (A&Y) by sensitizing them and strengthening their capacity to promote gender equality. Besides, it will focus on promoting child protection system in the community to create a solid network so that if any incident happened the system can pursue providing support and prompt action to the survivor. On top of that, they will work as a watchdog for their community. Moreover, it helps to create more gender-equitable attitudes and behaviors among female and male participants to reduce gender-based violence. It promotes community participation with the active engagement of youth club members, parents, social leaders and govt. representatives to address and act against GBV.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The Community Facilitator is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of GBV prevention activities at the field level; mobilizing community leaders and men, boys, women and girls from the community to participate in awareness campaigns and discussions/dialogue on GBV, conducting community training, supervising Community Volunteers and managing budget lines for prevention activities. The Community Facilitator will also work with the community, students, teachers, SMC and other sectors to identify GBV risks and share findings on a regular basis to inform advocacy.
