Job Context:
∎ BYS is looking for a Communications Associate to contribute to the planning and implementation of our communication strategy aimed at preserving the positive public perception of our organization.
∎ Your responsibilities will range from writing press releases and keeping track of BYS and its sister concern organisations mentions in the media to educating new staff on effective external communication strategies. You will be in charge of correspondence with the media and ensure all their requests are responded to on time. Collaborating with the rest of the team, you will be in charge of consolidating and nourishing relations with media, as well as ensuring messaging consistency throughout our communication channels.
∎ As a part of our team, you will be reporting to our Program Manager. We`re in search of a candidate with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to sustain our public reputation by maintaining media interest in our operations and deliverables.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Writing and editing press releases and other supportive media content for our campaigns
∎ Collaborating with the rest of the team on developing the content to be featured on the promotional print-outs, such as leaflets, brochures, etc.
∎ Maintaining our social media presence by developing marketing collateral and revising all marketing materials created by our copywriting team
∎ Preparing content for senior staff meetings, such as public speech drafts, research briefings, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
∎ Developing and maintaining relationships with media representatives
∎ Conducting occasional training sessions for new hires on how to speak and write on our organization's behalf
∎ Creating quarterly and annual reports for the desired projects
∎ Helping the BYS team in any projects
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 18 to 35 years
∎ Bachelor's degree in Communications
∎ Excellent command of written and spoken English
∎ Microsoft Office proficiency
∎ Adobe Photoshop, illustration, and premier pro skills (If Any)
∎ In-depth understanding of social media platforms and how they can be used to address the public
∎ Experience in Communications or a related field (Desirable)
∎ Outstanding interpersonal skills
Salary: Tk. 20000 (Monthly)

∎ Business : Barisal Youth Society-BYS, founded on 1st July 2014, is the largest youth-led organization
based in Barishal, Bangladesh. This platform shelters young underprivileged girls and pledges to
restore their rights.
We aim at achieving gender equality by working closely with girls who are victims of child
marriage, molestation, domestic violence, and marital rape by raising awareness and ensuring
quality education.
Over 10,000 members and 800 volunteers are actively working with BYS in several projects that
mostly focus on providing financial education aid alongside health equipment that guarantees
menstrual hygiene. We are strictly ensuring the equal participation of both male and female in
leadership.
We stopped 290 early marriages and empowered hundreds, including sex-workers, towards a
better future.
