∎ Job Summary:
∎ Commis 1 / Commis 2 specializing in Continental Cuisine at ZEN Restaurant is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes under the supervision of the Sous Chef. The role involves learning and executing basic cooking techniques, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and maintaining kitchen organization.
∎ Responsibilities:
∎ Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting.
∎ Follow recipes and cooking techniques to prepare continental dishes.
∎ Prepare and cook basic dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
∎ Ensure that food is cooked to the correct temperature and consistency.
∎ Assist in plating and garnishing dishes to meet presentation standards.
∎ Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
∎ Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
∎ Develop knowledge of continental cuisine and culinary techniques.
∎ Assist in monitoring inventory levels and alerting senior chefs when supplies are low.
∎ Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth kitchen operations.
