Job Context:
∎ Contract Duration: 6 Months.
∎ Prottyashi, A social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment and currently is going to implement a project on promoting aquaculture businesses at the community level through capacitating and engaging Local Service Providers in partnership with WorldFish under Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture Activity. Prottyashi invites applications for the vacant position titled- Business Development Officer for “Aquaculture business development through Local Service Providers in Cox’s Bazar” Project.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Monitor the overall aquaculture business promotion activities of the project as a project responsible person.
∎ Gather Aquaculture based local service providers (LSPs) such as nursery owners, patilwala, hatchery owners etc. and provide technical training to the these LSPS on aquaculture business promotion.
∎ Ensure improved nutrition sensitive aquaculture training to the smallholder farmers by the LSPs at the community level.
∎ Develop community-based aquaculture farmer groups and engage them in mainstream aquaculture business through necessary consultation and recommendation.
∎ Develop business and marketing plans of the farmers in coordination with business development coordinator to achieve project goals.
∎ Meeting with aquaculture actors to develop market linkage for the aquaculture farmers and LSPs.
∎ Provide access to finance services to the fish farmers through linking them with financial service providers/MFIs.
∎ Develop in-depth knowledge about business development practices, marketing activities, prospective market actors and business trends among the aquaculture business enterprises.
∎ Assist the project team in following the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
∎ Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators.
∎ Assist in preparing weekly/monthly reports through coordinating with business development coordinator and other field level staffs.
∎ Identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project.
∎ Produce special reports on the project activities and outputs as per the requirements of donor organization.
∎ Work with business development coordinator and other filed staffs to ensure the collection of relevant and appropriate data needed for an effective business promotion which will be utilized in monitoring strengths, weaknesses and gaps in project implementation and for reporting on donor commitments.
∎ Share learning and provide constructive comments to colleagues in order to ensure programme quality.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 02 years of professional experience in national or international organizations in implementing aquaculture projects.
∎ Educational qualification will be flexibly considered in case of having extensive relevant experience.
∎ Skill of photography
∎ Should have professional writing and speaking capacity in English and Bangla
∎ Proficient with MS office suite
∎ Must be able to drive motorcycle with valid driving license.
Salary: Tk. 65000 (Monthly)
