Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fashion Designing
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 10 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Determines the process for creating a new item
∎ Oversees product development amongst a team of individuals
∎ Presents new ideas to corporate executives in order to gain permission to develop product lines
∎ Review a cost analysis on the development of a new product
∎ Researches patents, copyrights and trademarks in order to make sure there are no infringement issues involved
∎ Maintain high standards of garment technical knowledge across the team on product fit, cut, composition, and finish.
∎ Follow up product performance test based on category.
∎ Responsible & Follow up for development of design collection, Creative Innovation, Analysis & Prediction of trends in Fabrics, colors & Shape of new product design , Sample designs for Knits garments as per market of UK, EUROPE, USA, Other Countries
∎ Research includes market study, field research, online research etc.
∎ Fashion forecasting- analyses the market and monitor current fashion trends, collections, customer preferences and competitor activities.
∎ Ensure desirable level of design approval ratio and give regular feedback in order to make clear decisions on the design range.
∎ Make the selections of fabrics and trims. Keep an eye on estimating and managing cost.
∎ Adherence to design calendar & SOP and maintaining tracking sheet for the activities of the design team to ensure delivery of designs as per design calendar.
∎ Ensure all technical details recorded accurately and hand over of samples are complete in all respects. Follow SOP and documentation of the company in handover process.
∎ Design apparel for assigned category independently and under mentorship of Departmental Head based on the seasonal needs of multiple accounts
∎ Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and take ownership
∎ Responsible for evaluate all design details from rough sketches to completion of tech packs
∎ Stay up-to-date on new trends of fashion and techniques by researching global, domestic and competitive markets
∎ Interact with Product development team to develop fabric and trim
∎ Work with Merchandising to assure customers’ needs are serviced
∎ Motivate and lead a team to create innovative solution driven products
∎ Inspire creativity within the team and foster new concepts that expand on brand defining products and technologies
∎ Drive research and analysis of upcoming fashion, market trends and competitive product offerings to understand the over-all market and to identify opportunities relevant to our product.
∎ Think innovatively at all stages of the creative, design and development process
∎ Build strong and synergistic relationships with cross functional partners; Merchandising, Marketing, Sales, Technical, PD and Production
∎ Sustain partnerships with Merchandising and Product Development to ensure products are engineered to profit and quality/aesthetic goals
∎ Follow Up prototype sampling information, including fabrication, trim, color, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements and construction detail.
∎ Oversee color development of solid fabrics, and comment on lab dips for color approval and direction into bulk.
∎ Oversee fabric /textile development of yarn dyed fabrics from development through to production.
∎ Give concise feedback to technical design on how to adjust garments and ensure production fits are to our specifications
∎ Work closely with the Head of to define seasonal framework and ensure that creative ideas and business goals are aligned
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Market Analysis, New Trends, Trend Research, Design Development, Product Development, Good sense of fashion trend; Quality and very detail oriented
∎ Strategic Leadership - ability to drive both short and long- term brand growth and profitability. Lead & Develop a team of Designers.
∎ Analytical - ability to convert analysis into insights, sustainable strategies, and actionable plans.
∎ Superior Critical Thinking and Problem Solving - Resourceful at achieving objectives/ Results despite obstacles.
∎ Strong communication and influence skills clear, Concise, and Persuasive in style.
∎ Pattern making and draping skills – including the ability to determine and communicate fit corrections
∎ Exceptional organization skills required as well as the ability to proactively self-prioritize workflow based on deadlines in a fast paced, ever changing environment
∎ Ability to travel domestically and internationally
∎ Full fashion and seamless knit garment construction knowledge
∎ Knowledge of textile and material construction and properties
∎ Knowledge of product costs and impact of design
∎ Fabrics, yarn and trims knowledge
Salary: Negotiable
