• Strong technical knowledge of synthetic and knit fabrics.

• Good knowledge in fabric & apparel product development.

• Experience with raw material and garment testing.

• Strong technical understanding of fabric construction and up to date on seasonal fabric trends.

• The incumbent should be dynamic and have good personality.

• Self-motivated and responsible.

• Able to work under pressure.

• Should be a team player having good interpersonal skills.

• Should be a proactive and result oriented.

• Analyze market demand for particular fabrics and ensure that fabric quality is achievable and can be maintained from development through to bulk.

• Independently source market demanded suitable fabrics and manage fabric development process.

• Provide fabric technical support to R&D and Merchandising Teams.

• Closely monitor fabric quality and troubleshoot problems with fabric operational teams.

• Maintain a fabric resource library to support market requirement.

• Fabric analysis.

• Develop new fabric as buyer original swatch or garments or their requirement and maintain fabric structure, yarn selection, composition, out looking, weight, wales, course, elongation, modulus, shrinkage, recovery etc.

• Prepare item wise technical specification sheet and swatch sticker.

• Calculate fabric item wise consumption.

• Update and maintain fabric library and vendor matrix.

• Work closely with Product Development to ensure a seamless hand over process.

• Partner with corporate testing to ensure all fabrics are developed to meet testing standards.

• Maintain bulk fabric archives.

• Communicate with relevant department like fabric dyeing, dyeing finishing, molding, printing, laboratory, fabric planning, garments planning, cutting etc.
