∎ Line manager: Field Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Assistant Field Coordinator is a senior managerial position and is in charge of the context analysis and security of the team and its assets within the implementation area. Under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator, he/she collects and analyses informations, develops security measures along with a communication strategy and leads the coordination with external stakeholders.
∎ Major responsibilities of the Assistant Field Coordinator will include the followings;
∎ Security and context analysis:
∎ Collect and analyze information by attending security meetings and following up media publications
∎ Respects of the proper process and communication with the local authorities
∎ Develop a network of contacts enabling the collection and verification of diverse information
∎ Maintain and enriches an updated list of security contacts in the zone of intervention
∎ Update security guide on his/her assignment base and train, raise awareness of the team about security issues
∎ Support the Field Coordinator in the management of security incidents and in the implementation measures to safeguard the physical wellbeing of the SI teams
∎ Update the list of security incidents and provide an analysis to the Field Coordinator
∎ Present the security context during the base management meetings
∎ File and archive documents related to security and context analysis
∎ Representation / coordination:
∎ Under delegation of the Field Coordinator, represent Solidarités International during humanitarian and security coordination meetings
∎ Ensure that Solidarites International's message is conveyed during meetings in accordance with its mandate and programs
∎ Ensure that all communication between the local and/or international NGOs are in accordance with the communication strategy defined with the Field Coordinator
∎ Communicate with the local authorities and communities in order to maintain and reinforce the implementation of the programs activities and support the team in sensitive negotiation with local authorities and communities
∎ Attends meetings trainings, workshops and any other capacity building and liaison gathering, in order to maintain Solidarites' high public profile
∎ Humanitarian monitoring:
∎ Conduct regular field / monitoring visits of SI program activities and intervention sites.
∎ Promotion and defense of humanitarian and SI principles towards all stakeholders
∎ Support the Field Coordination in the definition of Solidarités International's intervention strategy in the zone In line with the humanitarian need and organization positioning
∎ Provide inputs for the monthly situation report for the context/security section, and provide necessary information for adequate analysis
∎ Coordination/Liaison:
∎ Ensure the production and administrative follow up and monitoring of required documents required when asked from local authorities (FD6, visiting expat letters, official field visit plan).
∎ Draft minutes for each meeting he/she attends.
∎ Liaise with the capital Assistant Country Director on communication material and requirements related to base projects' activities, as well as for NGOAB documentation.
∎ Upon the request of the Field Coordinator, is in charge of oral and written translation
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Proven experience in liaison / coordination with local authorities.
∎ Minimum of 3 years professional experience in humanitarian and/or development programs implementation and management, including emergency response to disasters and community-level engagement/participatory approach.
∎ Sound knowledge of project cycle management is an asset
∎ Sound understanding of gender protection and do not harm principles;
∎ Good knowledge of the different humanitarian actors and coordination, communication and representation skills;
∎ Good diplomatic and negotiation skills;
∎ Experience in donor reporting, proposal writing and sound understanding of donors rules
∎ Able to work autonomously and strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and build staff competences and achieve results through others
∎ Good understanding of ICT-systems and experience with MS Office applications, including Excel
∎ The following qualifications are desirable and will be an advantage;
∎ Previous experience with NGO in Cox's Bazar district (recommended)
∎ Strong knowledge of cultural and political contexts in Bangladesh as well as Teknaf area;
∎ Good communication skills, with good written and spoken English. Skills in Chittagonian language highly preferred.
∎ Human resource management
∎ Competence in risk and security management;
∎ Ensure the preparation and administrative follow up and monitoring of required documents required when asked from local authorities (FD6, visiting expats letters, official visit plan).
Salary:
∎ Monthly Salary: 76900/- BDT
