Job Purpose
To ensure 24/7 monitoring, fault handling, traffic observation, and first-level operational support of IGW/IPTSP networks, maintaining high service availability, quality of service (QoS), and timely escalation to ensure uninterrupted international and domestic voice traffic operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Monitoring & Fault Management: Monitor IGW/IPTSP network faults on a 24/7 basis, analyze alarms, and escalate issues in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
2. Traffic Routing & Configuration: Execute traffic routing modifications as per authorized instructions to ensure optimal call flow and network performance.
3. Core Network Connectivity Monitoring: Monitor end-to-end core-level connectivity of trunk groups, signalling links, international transmission (IPLC, ITC), and local transmission (NTTN).
4. Network Monitoring Tools & Bandwidth Analysis: Utilize SolarWinds, Nagios, LibreNMS, and MRTG to detect faults and monitor bandwidth utilization and network performance.
5. IP Telephony & Customer Support: Configure IP Phones and IP-PBX systems and provide first-level technical support to IPTSP customers for call connectivity issues.
6. Reporting & Traffic Analysis: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, including traffic trend analysis for IGW and IPTSP operations.
7. Log Management & Call Testing: Maintain network issue logs, conduct shift-wise call testing, and report findings to ensure service quality.
8. Vendor & Partner Ticket Management: Raise, track, and follow up trouble tickets with vendors, carriers, and partners until resolution.
9. Traffic Observation & Performance Reporting: Observe daily traffic rates and generate performance reports to support operational decision-making.
10. Carrier & Operator Coordination: Coordinate with IGW/IOS/ICX operators and international carriers to resolve network faults and maintain standard Quality of Service (QoS).
11. Planned Activity Communication: Inform relevant stakeholders about planned maintenance and scheduled activities, ensuring proper coordination and follow-up.
12. Call Failure Analysis & Stakeholder Reporting: Record call failure causes, share analytical reports with concerned stakeholders, and seek clarification where required.
13. Infrastructure & Environment Monitoring: Conduct periodic switch room visits and vigilantly monitor temperature and environmental conditions to ensure equipment safety and stability.
