Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Merchandising, Textile Design, or a related field
Strong understanding of knit fabrics, yarns, stitches, and garment construction
Knowledge of garment costing and production processes
Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop; CAD tools preferred)

Job Context:
AKH Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. is a 100% export oriented Knit Composite Factory and it’s a sister concern of AKH Group. We are looking an energetic, enthusiastic and dynamic Assistant Designer for Knit Garments work with merchandising team. He should support the design and merchandising team in developing knitwear collections from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist in developing knit garment designs based on buyer briefs, trends, and seasonal themes
Prepare mood boards, color palettes, and design concepts for knit collections
Support creation and updating of CADs, sketches, and design presentations
Assist in yarn, fabric, stitch, and trim selection suitable for knit garments
Coordinate with merchandising team to align designs with cost, MOQ, and delivery timelines
Assist in preparing and updating tech packs and BOMs for knit styles
Track sample development (proto, fit, size set, PP samples) and follow up with factories
Help ensure samples meet buyer specifications, quality standards, and timelines
Conduct seasonal trend research for knitwear (silhouettes, stitches, colors, yarns)
Analyze buyer trends, competitor styles, and market demands
Maintain trend and reference libraries for knit garments
Liaise with sourcing, production, quality, and merchandising teams
Communicate buyer comments and revisions to factories accurately
Support cost negotiations by understanding material and construction impacts
Maintain design and development records, sample logs, and approvals
Assist in preparing buyer presentations and internal reports
Ensure proper filing of design files, swatches, and sample references
