Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) is one of the leading organizations dedicated to public health research in Bangladesh. The centre is now looking for a qualified person to fulfil the following vacant position immediately to work in child drowning prevention programme in Barishal Division. The Anchal Mentoring Officer will be responsible for improving the service quality of at least 100 community Anchal day-care centres. (Anchal is a community daycare centers for children under 5.)
∎ Job location: This position is based in Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhil District.
∎ Duration: Initial appointment will be for 12 months (with possibility for further extension based on funding availability and performance) including 3 months probationary period.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Anchal Mentoring Officer will perform the following duties:
∎ Monthly Work Plan: Prepare and submit effective monthly work plan to Area Coordinator& ECD Specialist in the last week of the each month
∎ Communication: Regular communication with the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Specialist to consult about ECD related issues.
∎ Need Assessment for Anchal Logistic: Assess logistics needs for her respective Anchal centers and report to her Area Coordinator quarterly.
∎ Monitoring and data collection: Ensure monitoring, supervision and overall quality ECD activities of overall 80-120 Anchal centers according to SOP (Standard Operational Procedure). Anchal Operation. Identify poor performing Anchal and Anchal Maas and provide support to improve their kills and professional development. Supervise activities of 3-4 Programme (Anchal) supervisors
∎ Field visits: Must pay visit to poor-performing Anchal centers and Anchal Ma for quality improvement purposes as per requirements. Prepare a visit report and document it in an AMO activity register book.
∎ Training: Conduct Anchal Basic and Refresher Training for improving Anchal Maa & Anchal Assistant performance. Also conduct one to one training to newly recruited Anchal Maa & Assistant (Replacement for Dropout) for improving Anchal quality service.
∎ Meeting: Attend in daily sharing meetings with the Anchal Supervisors and identify challenges and scope of improvements as well as success stories related to Anchal. Organize 8-10 monthly Cluster Meetings on an average and support weak performing Anchal Maa & Assistant Maas to improve their performance. Ensure regular conduction of monthly parents meetings.
∎ Annual Event: Organize and assist in organizing Anchal annual events in Union Council (Parishad).
∎ Assist in Research Study: Assist research team on conducting different ECD assessments research related studies on need basis.
∎ Reporting: Assist in preparing the progress reports for Project Head Office. Prepare Anchal monthly report, assisting in curriculum design and planning, documenting successes, challenges, case studies and lessons learned from the field sites and inform the Head Office Team
∎ Community and Stakeholder Engagement: To keep regular communication with various stakeholders including Parents, members of Village Injury Prevention Committee (VIPC), Union Injury Prevention Committee (UIPC).
∎ Perform other duties as assigned by the management

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in school/ day-care center/ or Ngo. Exposure to work at the community level is desirable. Candidates with singing, dancing and acting skills and experience will get preference.
∎ Strong Knowledge and skills in story-telling, singing and performing basic dances
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
∎ Strong managerial skills with the ability to deliver results
∎ Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Bangla
∎ Sound skill in report writing and basic computer application (MS Office)

Salary:
∎ Consolidated monthly salary is Tk. 30,950 (including taxes and travels). Other benefits as per policy of the organization and are excluded from the remuneration.
