Experience:
Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
Minimum 8-10 years of progressive professional experience in communication roles, preferably within development, public health, research, or humanitarian programs.
Demonstrated experience in content development, editing, publication, and dissemination across print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
Practical experience in graphic design and visual communication (using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms).
Hands-on experience managing websites and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla).
Prior experience working with government institutions, INGOs, NGOs, UN agencies, or development partners is highly desirable.

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND
The Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) is a nationally and internationally recognized public health research organization committed to injury prevention, health promotion, and community development through evidence-based research, advocacy, and interventions. CIPRB works in close collaboration with government institutions, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs, academic institutions, and development partners.
CIPRB invites applications from qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals for the position of Communication Manager, who will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of organizational communication activities, contributing to improved visibility, stakeholder engagement, and effective dissemination of program information.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Communication Manager will be responsible for coordinating and implementing internal and external communication activities of CIPRB. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the position will work closely with senior management, divisions and project teams to support the development and delivery of communication plans, materials, and platforms that promote organizational activities, advocacy messages, and project results in line with donor and organizational requirements.
Contract Type: Contractual
Duration: Initially for 1 year with a 3-month probationary period (renewable subject to performance and funding availability)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Communication & Organizational Coordination
Lead the development, implementation, and periodic review of organization-wide and project-specific communication strategies, ensuring alignment with CIPRB’s mission, branding guidelines, and donor requirements.
Translate research findings, program achievements, and policy outcomes into clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate communication products.
Serve as the focal point for coordination between technical teams, management, donors, and external stakeholders on all communication-related matters.
Ensure compliance with donor visibility, branding, and reporting standards across all communication outputs.
Content Development, Knowledge Management & Media Engagement
Oversee the development of high-quality content including newsletters, success stories, human-interest stories, case studies, policy briefs, IEC materials, and advocacy documents.
Draft, edit, and finalize press releases, feature articles, op-eds, and media briefs to highlight program impact and lessons learned.
Support knowledge translation by converting complex research outputs into user-friendly, policy-relevant communication products.
Manage relationships with media houses, journalists, creative agencies, and vendors to ensure timely and professional production and dissemination of materials.
Digital Communication & Social Media Management
Lead the development, management and regular updating of CIPRB’s website and social media platforms (including Facebook and Twitter/X).
Develop and execute digital communication and social media strategies to increase reach, engagement, and institutional credibility.
Monitor digital analytics and audience engagement metrics, using insights to refine content strategies and improve performance.
Provide technical and content support for online campaigns, webinars, and virtual events.
Events, Campaigns & Public Relations
Plan, coordinate, and support awareness campaigns, advocacy initiatives, community events, trainings, workshops, and press briefings.
Represent CIPRB in national and international forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings, as delegated by management.
Strengthen and maintain professional relationships with government counterparts, development partners, donors, and civil society stakeholders.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Quality Assurance & Innovation
Conduct regular media monitoring and public perception analysis, providing strategic insights to senior management.
Identify and pilot innovative communication approaches, including multimedia storytelling, visual content, and digital tools to enhance visibility and outreach.
Salary: BDT 1,10,808/- per month (Negotiable for strongly deserving candidates)
