PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP
The purpose of this internship is to provide practical learning opportunities to a fresh graduate who is interested in fundraising, donor engagement, corporate partnerships, and peer-to-peer fundraising in the development sector. The intern will support day-to-day activities of the Resource Development & Partnerships team while learning how international NGOs raise funds from individuals, corporates, and communities, and how partnerships are built and maintained.
This internship follows a learning-by-doing approach, where the intern will work under close guidance and supervision, gradually building skills and confidence for future entry-level roles in development and fundraising organizations.
KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the 6-month internship, the intern will be able to:
Understand the basic concepts of fundraising and resource development
Learn how individual, corporate, and institutional donors are identified and mapped
Gain introductory experience in proposal and concept note preparation
Understand the role of different teams (Program, MEAL, Finance) in proposal development
Learn how organizations engage corporates and manage partnerships
Gain exposure to peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising approaches and campaigns
Learn how organizations communicate with donors and supporters
Gain exposure to event planning and coordination
Understand and practice professional ethics, teamwork, and safeguarding principles
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(Includes but is not limited to the following)
1. Donor Research & Fundraising Support
Assist in updating and organizing donor and partner information
Conduct basic internet research on potential donors, corporates, and funding opportunities
Help prepare short summaries and notes for internal fundraising discussions
2. Corporate Fundraising & Partnership Support
Support research on corporate CSR priorities and partnership opportunities
Assist in preparing basic corporate briefing materials and presentations
Help maintain records of corporate contacts, meetings, and engagement activities
Observe and learn how corporate partnerships are developed and managed
3. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Fundraising Support
Support planning and coordination of peer-to-peer fundraising activities or campaigns
Assist in compiling supporter lists and basic campaign tracking information
Help prepare simple communication materials for P2P fundraising initiatives
Learn how individuals and communities are engaged to fundraise for HFHI-B.
4. Proposal & Concept Note Support
Assist in collecting program information and reports
Support formatting and compiling of concept notes and proposals
Observe and learn how proposals are reviewed and finalized
5. Donor Communication & Engagement
Support preparation of donor and partner briefing materials and presentations
Assist in organizing donor, corporate, and partner meetings
Help maintain organized records of donor communications
6. Research & Knowledge Support
Conduct desk research on donor priorities, funding trends, and fundraising best practices
Assist in organizing documents and learning materials
Support basic data organization for reporting and reference
7. Event & Activity Support
Provide logistical support for fundraising, corporate, and partner engagement events
Assist during events with coordination and documentation
Help prepare simple post-event notes and summaries

9. Other Support Tasks
