  • Age At least 35 years
  • Minimum 13 years of progressive experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, or public policy; prior experience in a senior corporate affairs role at a large conglomerate or MNC is preferred.

  • Deep expertise in Bangladesh's tax regime, customs procedures, and fiscal policy landscape.

  • Demonstrated track record of successful engagement with NBR and multiple government ministries.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory and legislative texts



Responsibilities & Context:

The AGM — Regulatory Policy Advocacy & Engagement is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the Group's policy engagement agenda at the national level. The incumbent will lead all interactions with the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and spearhead the Group's engagement with key ministries on policy and regulatory matters that impact the Group's diverse business interests. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of fiscal policy, trade regulations, and the Bangladesh government's legislative and administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic policy advocacy, navigate complex fiscal and regulatory frameworks, and represent the Group at senior ministry levels.

  • Lead the Group's engagement with NBR on customs, VAT, income tax, and other fiscal matters affecting the Group's operations.

  • Represent the Group in industry consultations, budget stakeholder meetings, and policy dialogue forums with NBR and relevant ministries.

  • Develop the Group's regulatory policy advocacy strategy in alignment with the Group's business priorities.

  • Monitor legislative and policy developments across key ministries (Finance, Commerce, Industries, etc.) and assess their implications for the Group.

  • Prepare executive-level policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy documents for senior management and regulatory bodies.

  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with senior government officials, policymakers, and industry bodies.

  • Coordinate with the Group's legal, finance, and business units to consolidate policy positions and submissions.

  • Engage with trade bodies (DCCI, FBCCI, BGMEA, etc.) to build coalitions and present shared policy positions.

  • Lead negotiations and follow-ups on regulatory waivers, SRO benefits, and policy exemptions.

  • Mentor and guide junior regulatory affairs team members.
