Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer, and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of the entire human community. DAM has been contributing to the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and also 8 sectors of development.
The Health and WASH Sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 8 institutions and 17 donor funded projects. DAM Health and WASH Sector is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of Advocacy Officer (Policy) of the "Advocacy for a Comprehensive Law Emphasizing on Road Safety in Bangladesh" Project implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), funded by Global Road Safety Partnership-hosted by IFRC. It`s a Dhaka based position that will act as the key person of policy advocacy.
Job Description:
He/She will work as Advocacy Officer (Policy) of the project.
Mapping the policymakers and stakeholder list, developing an advocacy framework plan for the desired policy change.
Identifying spokespersons/Champions and involving them in relevant advocacy activities.
Conducting workshops, conferences, seminars, policy events, roundtable discussions, and field visits targeting/involving decision-makers of relevant ministries and institutes.
Performing national level and sub-national level advocacy with level relevant policymakers for RTA-2018 amendment.
Performing advocacy for coordination among GoB. non-govt. departments, institutes, and resource persons.
Conducting regular meetings with decision-makers.
Organizing sensitizing and orientation meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Assist TL and PC to organize different advocacy and sensitization meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Following-up on previous road-safety related advocacies under this project.
Conducting capacity development training.
Developing communication materials on advocacy issues (fact sheets, media kits, policy briefs, photos, personal testimonies, apparel and/or video).
Maintaining close liaison with relevant stakeholders from GoB.
Organizing sensitization meetings with different ministries, day observance programs, press conferences, roundtable meetings, etc.

Performing monitoring and evaluation of the project activities. Ensuring timely development of periodic reports.
Perform any other tasks assigned by the management.
