Responsibilities & Context:
∎ The Advocacy and Communication Officer will work in a dynamic environment to support the organization's mission of promoting inclusion and equity for persons with disabilities. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, local authorities, and communities, to implement advocacy and communication strategies effectively. The position requires a proactive approach to addressing program challenges, ensuring quality outputs, and fostering awareness through impactful campaigns and materials. A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and the organization’s values is essential.
∎ Job Location: CRP-Savar and CRP Manikganj.
∎ Project Duration: Up to September 2025
∎ Oversee inception meetings, recruitment processes, preparation of procurement plans, and obtaining necessary permissions from local authorities.
∎ Ensure the program team is trained for effective implementation, particularly on advocacy with government, non-government organizations, and local government on relevant issues.
∎ Supervise the process of selecting program beneficiaries to ensure impartiality, particularly in identifying women with disabilities within the program's coverage areas.
∎ Oversee the creation of self-help groups for all types of persons with disabilities, ensuring inclusion of indigenous individuals and transgender persons with disabilities.
∎ Support the creation and contextual adaptation of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials for the training and capacity building of program staff and beneficiaries.
∎ Collect health and rehabilitation-related news, information, government or court orders, policy statements, and guidelines.
∎ Assist the program team in ensuring high-quality health and rehabilitation initiatives for persons with disabilities in collaboration with local participants, government bodies, administration, media, and implementing agencies.
∎ Prepare program-related documents, including concept notes and program budgets.
∎ Oversee program staff and activities, provide guidance, and maintain regular communication with program partners.
∎ Analyze and resolve program-related challenges effectively.
∎ Draft issue-based or time-sensitive letters/statements for government organizations (GOs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and media, and ensure their dissemination.
∎ Plan and execute program activities in a timely and precise manner.· Conduct program reviews and prepare monthly, quarterly, event-based, and annual reports in both English and Bengali for management.
∎ Prepare agendas, organize meetings, and distribute meeting minutes.
∎ Communicate with donor organizations as per instructions.
∎ Practice, promote, and endorse safeguarding policies among team members, ensuring the implementation of safeguarding standards in all actions.
