Job Context:
∎ DRRA is one of the largest development organizations in the field of disability in Bangladesh, devoted to the inclusive society and operating programs in 30 districts with implementing partners. It is working to make positive changes in the lives of persons with disabilities through creating an enabling environment and inclusive society. DRRA is promoting multi-sector Community-based Rehabilitation (CBR) that covers the key domains of well-being: health, education, livelihood, social inclusion and the empowerment of persons with disabilities and their families.
∎ DRRA is planning to appoint an `Advocacy & Capacity Building officer` for implementing the project namely `CCDIDRM (Community Centered Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Management)`. The `Advocacy & Capacity Building Officer` will lead local level advocacy & capacity building activity of project under direct supervision of Project Coordinator and overall guidance of DRM & Livelihood expert of DRRA.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare training and capacity building activities plan.
∎ Ensure all designed capacity building activities as per plan for stakeholder of the project
∎ Develop need based training module on disability inclusive livelihood for the project
∎ Lead to Identify project beneficiaries for livelihood support
∎ Ensure disability inclusive livelihood activities as per project plan for all target beneficiaries
∎ Conduct all local level Advocacy event with local govt. (ward, union), upazila and district officials for women, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups so that they can access social protection support.
∎ Performing any other duties and responsibilities as per the directives of the Line Manager;
∎ Candidates must be capable of displaying great learning ability, support and encouragement of knowledge sharing across program/projects, to the ultimate benefit of all of DRRA's mission wide initiatives.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ Minimum 3 years in NGO/Development sector and at least 1 year in livelihood/ food security/ DRM/ climate change program.
∎ Basic understating on disability, inclusiveness, climate change and DRM is preferable.
∎ Skill and knowledge on livelihood specially focus on Agriculture and/or Tourism.
∎ Skill on training and capacity building of the project beneficiaries, especially considering women, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
∎ Basic knowledge on local level advocacy focusing DRM & livelihood. Advance Advocacy experience is preferable.
∎ Show commitment to quality and excellence, and holding the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.
∎ Previous involvement with development project specially Disaster Management/ Climate Change/ Livelihood for disability issue is preferable
∎ Basic communication skills both oral and written in English and Bangla.
∎ Good computer skills e.g. E-mail, MS word, Power point, Excel, Outlook etc.
Salary: Tk. 35000 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Monthly consolidated salary along with other admissible benefits as per project budget and DRRA policy.
