  • Minimum 1 years of practical experience in implementing donor-funded projects, preferably in NGO/INGO settings.

  • Basic knowledge of hardware, networking, and troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Understanding of database systems and MIS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and in field environments

  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote project areas

  • Strong commitment to development and NGO sector work

Responsibilities & Context:

ESDO was established in 1988 with the aim of supporting poor and marginalized people affected by the devastating flood and gradually moving towards achieving a broader vision of achieving sustainable, secured, and resilient livelihoods for these poor and marginalized people through improving their overall sustainable development. For the last more than three and a half decades of its development journey, ESDO has set an outstanding example of a sustainable development model for the underprivileged communities of Bangladesh. ESDO has been working in the country's primarily unserved and underserved locations, nurturing a community-focused participatory approach and people's ownership. Consequently, the ESDO's working area has already established an enabling environment. We have made notable achievements in livelihood improvement, food security and nutrition, education, women's empowerment, health, the promotion of children's rights, adolescent and youth engagement, and the rights of ethnic minorities. During this long span, we have adapted to the changing situation and provided the most time-bound effective services, especially to the poor and disadvantaged people. Considering the government's development policies, we are currently implementing a considerable number of projects and programs, including a microfinance program, through a community-focused and people-centered approach to accomplish the government's development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN as a whole. One of the most dynamic organizations, ESDO, is expanding its development interventions across 422 upazilas under 56 districts of Bangladesh, thereby reaching over 15.73 million impoverished and vulnerable individuals.

 

The Management Trainee – IT will support the IT team in ensuring efficient IT operations across various projects of ESDO. The role is designed to develop young professionals through hands-on experience in IT system management, data handling, troubleshooting, and digital transformation initiatives within development programs.

 

ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the following position. Women are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

1. ICT Support & System Maintenance

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to project staff (hardware, software, networking issues).

  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.

  • Ensure proper functioning of internet, LAN, and communication systems.

  • Maintain IT inventory and asset tracking system.

 

2. Database & MIS Management

  • Assist in maintaining project databases and Management Information Systems (MIS).

  • Ensure accurate data entry, validation, and reporting.

  • Support data backup, recovery, and security procedures.

  • Generate periodic reports as required by project management.

 

3. Software & Application Support

  • Assist in implementing project-related software, ERP, or mobile applications.

  • Provide user support and basic training to staff on ICT tools and systems.

  • Troubleshoot software-related issues and coordinate with vendors if needed.

 

4. Network & Security Management

  • Monitor network performance and ensure system security.

  • Support antivirus updates, firewall management, and data protection measures.

  • Assist in implementing ICT policies and cybersecurity practices.

 

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain documentation of ICT systems, troubleshooting logs, and user manuals.

  • Prepare ICT reports, system status updates, and incident reports.

  • Assist in developing SOPs and guidelines for ICT operations.

6. Training & Capacity Building

  • Support ICT training sessions for project staff.

  • Assist in building digital literacy among field-level employees.

  • Stay updated with emerging ICT tools relevant to development projects.

 

7. Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and central ICT unit.

  • Provide ICT support during project events, workshops, and field activities.

  • Travel to field locations as required.
