Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) is a non-governmental non-profitable development organization. A group of development practitioners, researchers and social workers established BARCIK in 1997. BARCIK has been working in the fields of environment, biodiversity conservation, climate change and food security with utmost commitment and purpose since its inception. BARCIK is looking for a well-qualified candidate for the post of Advocacy Assistant for its project titled `Strengthening the resilience of the poorest population of the impacts of climate change in Bangladesh to be implemented in Shyamnagar and Ashashuni upazila in Satkhira district. The project is supported by NETZ Bangladesh
∎ Job Nature: Full-time (up to project period based on performance)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinate civil society organization (CSO), attend CSO meetings;
∎ organize and participate in dialogue meetings between CSOs and government agencies;
∎ accompany and monitor climate change activities in secondary schools;
∎ communicate with government agencies;
∎ support and follow up on requests under the Access to Information (ATI) Act;
∎ coordinate public events;
∎ ensure pandemic-related safeguards at meetings and events.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years working experience with proven skill and competencies in local level advocacy, livelihood and climate change.
∎ The applicant should have computer skill on MS word, Excel and report writing.
∎ Experiences on network/linkage/collaboration with union/upazila level administration and like-minded organizations.
∎ Male candidates must have Motor bike driving license.
∎ Willing to stay at union/upazila level with frequent visit to the remote areas.
∎ Candidate should have a good knowledge on safe grading policy (Child Protection, Gender & Anti sexual harassment).

Salary: Tk. 16300 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 1 festival bonus equivalent to 1 month gross salary
