• Essential: Certificate in mechanics (3 years of formal training from a recognized institute) and Driving license.
• Desirable: Diploma in Automotive Engineering.
Experience:
• At least 3 years hands-on experience repairing vehicles and generators.
• Knowledge in Automotive wiring is an added advantage.
• Skills in generator repair and maintaince is an added advantage.
• Previous supervisory experience (2 years) is an advantage.

Main Purpose:
The Workshop Supervisor in the IST Workshop in Ukhiya, Cox Bazar, is responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality vehicle repairs, and adherence to safety standards, according to MSF standards, protocols and procedures in order to ensure the efficient running of the workshop. This role involves supervising technicians, managing resources, and ensuring service satisfaction through timely and cost-effective service delivery.
Accountabilities:
Supervision and monitoring on a Day-to-Day basis implementation of the mechanical servicing activities of vehicles, generators and small motorized equipment in the Intersectional Workshop ensuring compliance to MSF standards, protocols and procedures. This includes the following tasks:
Ensuring the mechanical repairs and maintenance of the vehicles and motorized engines (generators, motor pumps, etc.).
Supervising, organizing, and planning the schedule for the periodic servicing of all vehicles (corrective, predictive and preventive) and motorized engines in Dhaka, Cox and OCs project sites, in order to ensure effective and optimal working conditions of the fleet.
Follow the Logbook instructions to ensure the service procedures and protocoals sequence and intervals and effective weekly checks are performed by the mechanics, and assistant mechanics in proper and correct and timely manner.
Assist mechanics , asistant mechanics in carrying out effectively special and complex services as referred to in the logbook and deciding whether a vehicle requires an urgent , unscheduled or schedule intervention.
Do inventories every three months on the mechanics and workshop Tools and equipment and identify missing tools and replacing them immediately.
With the help of procurement team do market assessment and evaluate local providers suitability and quality in providing spares in a timely manner.
In collaboration with the store keeper and mechanics identify missing spares and place order in a timely manner to ensure on short lead times,
Monitor incoming and outgoing deliveries of spare parts and consumables for quality control checks.
inform the line manager on stock levels on a weekly basis, in order to ensure availability and rationale use to avoid spare parts and consumable ruptures.
Supervise and lead the logistic team under his/her responsibility on daily supervision and checking the quality of their work drawing up working schedule; organising and leading team meetings
Planning and supervising the HR processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation and internal, external communication) of the mechanics in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required for the activity
Providing daily, weekly and monthly activity reports to workshop manager and implementing reporting practices and protocols in order to ensure that all vehicle documentation are in order and inspection reports are conveniently filled.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workshop procedures.
Performing delegated tasks according to his her speciality and as specified in his/her job description
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
Supervise 6 mechanics (4 for vehicles & 2 for Generators), 6 watchmen and 1 cleaner to perform their day-to-day activities.
Minimize vehicle downtime through efficient workflow and resource allocation.
Oversee troubleshooting of complex mechanical and automotive electrical issues.
Maintain accurate job cards, service logs, and repair documentation.
Ensure the cost-effectiveness of the workshop by ensuring good workload distribution.
In collaboration with OCs fleet focal persons implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles.
Track vehicle performance and recurring faults to improve reliability.
Ensure not to overload the workshop team, by planning the services and the weekly checks.
Ensure efficient communication with the projects (Hours/Km Survey, Job Request, and Maintenance Schedule)
Conduct performance evaluations and identify skill gaps by providing on-the-job training and technical guidance mechanics
Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of oils, chemicals, and waste.
Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective actions by conduct regular safety briefings and risk assessments.
Promote teamwork, discipline, and accountability within the workshop.
Ensure the workshop filing and administration is done according to MSF workshop practices, both hard and soft copies.
Communicate and meet with the project fleet teams, and review the service provided by IST workshop.
To ensure the proper implementation of workshop guidelines & SOPs.
Support storekeeper for spare parts stock inventory in workshop and timely availability of spares.
Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices in the IST workshop according to MSF standards.
Compile weekly, and monthly workshop reports (repairs, downtime, costs) and maintain records of maintenance history for all vehicles.
Report major faults, spare parts delays, or operational issues to the workshop manager.
Prevent misuse, loss, or theft of workshop materials.
Ensure quality work is done and in timely and correct manner.
Ensure the availability of necessary tools and spare parts.
Carry out regular tools inventory management of the workshop mechanics and general workshop tools and equipment.
Any other task designated by workshop manger
In the absences of the workshop manager fill the gap of a workshop manager
Responsible for preparing and maintaining duty rosters for watchmen, ensuring proper shift coverage and security at all times.
Contract and Benefit:
• Permanent contract renewable based on performance and operational needs. Salary according to level Six (6) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 85,500 Gross). Salary is non-negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule.
• 2 annual leave days per month worked.
• Medical Reimbursement for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
Others: There will be no provisions for relocation.
