Responsibilities & Context:
Component Inspection: Measure and evaluate parts against engineering blueprints and specifications using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and gauges).
Equipment Calibration: Regularly test and calibrate workshop measuring instruments to maintain accuracy, logging data and arranging for third-party recalibration when necessary.
Defect Management: Tag and isolate rejected components. Summarize rework and waste, informing the workshop foreman or manager of recurring faults.
Documentation: Complete inspection reports, check-sheets, and logs. Ensure engineering drawings and specifications are properly red-lined and updated.
