Bachelors in Civil engineering or
4 Years technical diploma with specialization in water and sanitation is essential.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of Water and Sanitation is essential
Minimum 1 year experience in Public or environmental health programs on a similar role is preferable.
Solid knowledge of plumbing, pumps, chlorine dosing, borehole operations, waste management, IRS essential.
Experience in supervising a team is preferred.
Languages :
Native Bangla ; Fluency in English essential
Fluency in Chittagonian dialect is desirable.
Knowledge : Computer Literacy; Excel, Word, Power Point.
Accountabilities:
Ensuring the day-to-day implementation and administration of assigned Watsan activities at project level, including but not limited to, water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, vector control, and dead bodies management
Ensuring that the MSF procedures and protocols are followed by the Watsan teams to guarantee the operational quality of the project;
Ensuring the maintenance and repair of technical equipment in the project to guarantee an adequate running of Watsan activities;
Ensuring the distribution of the materials and tools used in water treatment, hygiene and sanitation (e.g. physical organization and inventory of stocks, receiving and processing orders for water, sanitation and hygiene material, check that the amounts received are recorded, and check monthly consumptions, etc.);
Supporting the Watsan Manager in ensuring an appropriate emergency preparedness and response capacity (physical verification of stocks, contacts, transport means, staff training). Ensuring appropriate assistance to the project response team and if required, participating in emergency activities or exploratory visits
Supporting the Watsan Manager in the team planning (e.g. staff rosters and admin, HR processes, etc.) and informing and involving the Watsan Manager in case of any major management or technical issue, and providing all required reporting
Planning and supervising the HR processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, tasks definition and internal and external communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required for the activity
Participating in data collection and reporting as required.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
Covering HOH (Hospital on the Hill), OPD3, OPD2, and the base (Office and Guest House) by providing technical expertise and supporting the implementation and execution of all required maintenance activities.
Establishing and implementing the WATSAN maintenance plan across all mentioned sites.
Ensuring the proper use and operation of the De Montfort Incinerator.
Ensuring WATSAN follow-up records are accurate and up to date.
Ensuring that all MEMOs are properly followed and implemented.
Closely coordinating with the IPC team to strengthen infection prevention and control measures in the facilities.
Proposing, organizing, and facilitating training sessions for technicians and CEMs.
Supporting planning and basic design for WATSAN-related construction activities.
Submitting monthly reports to the Manager on time.
Assisting the Logistics Manager in promoting and maintaining an inclusive, safe, and respectful working environment for the team.
Assisting the Manager in preparing the yearly budget proposal and objectives.
Providing additional support outside of the standard JD when necessary and upon request from the Manager.
Follow-up with internal and external organisation regarding watsan related work if needed , as example water sample sending , external waste disposal etc.
Permanent Contract.
Salary according to level Six (6) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 85,500). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule.
2 annual leave days per month worked.
