Job Context:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop project documents (drawings, bills of quantities, contracts, etc.) for small and non-complex engineering projects using approved formats
∎ Monitor project implementation for compliance with project documents, ICRC standards, and local building codes/standards ensuring corrective action is taken where necessary
∎ Supervise small number of contractors working on project sites and conduct quality control of infrastructure installed by the ICRC
∎ Prepare implementation/progress reports at interval set by the project manager
∎ Provide regular information to colleagues on security, stakeholder issues and site progress
∎ Manage project purchasing on labour and materials according to the delegation's financial rules
∎ Administer hand-over of ICRC-provided infrastructure to end-users
∎ Organize and conduct training for end-users in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure installed by the ICRC
∎ Assist in identifying and analyzing needs through assessments and surveys
∎ Take part in analyzing water and habitat issues, the security situation and the cultural and political environment
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years of proven professional experience in a similar position especially with any international NGO/bilateral development agency
∎ Good knowledge of water and sanitation, construction engineering
∎ Experience in training and participatory approach will be an added advantage
∎ Experience in managing 1-3 technical support staff
∎ Experience of managing contractors
∎ Excellent command (spoken and written) of local language(s)
∎ Excellent command (spoken and written) of English
∎ Proficient in use of drawing software, Autocad
∎ Excellent sense of responsibility and confidentiality
∎ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, respecting the established framework
∎ Ability to define priorities
∎ Ability to adapt to and work in a multicultural team environment
∎ Team spirit and capacity to integrate a multidisciplinary approach
Salary:
∎ 13th months` salary
