Experience:
University degree or equivalent – preferably in Political/Social Science, International Relations, Development Studies.
Minimum 5 years professional experience in development sector whereas minimum 3 years’ experience in managing programs, projects or teams in complex operational environments.
Strong analytical and reporting skills.
Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel / Word / PowerPoint).
Excellent command of English and Bangla. Proficiency in Chittagonian language/dialect will be considered as an asset.
Excellent team management & team player skill.
Prior experience with Red Cross Red Crescent Movement would be considered as an asset.
WHO WE ARE
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.
THE PURPOSE
The Field Team Leader oversees, coordinates, facilitates and contributes to the implementation of ICRC activities in Cox's Bazar and when applicable other parts of Chattogram Division. The role ensures the effective delivery of ICRC objectives through integrated, multidisciplinary approaches while monitoring the humanitarian, security, socio-economic, cultural and political context, maintaining strategic relationships with local key stakeholders.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors and analyses the humanitarian, security, socio-economic and political environment within the area of responsibility, identifies humanitarian needs and trends, and contributes to situation analysis.
Oversees, coordinates, facilitates and contributes to the implementation of ICRC activities within the area of responsibility, ensuring timely delivery, alignment with the delegation's objectives, priorities and ICRC policies while promoting integrated approaches.
Develops and maintains constructive working relations with authorities, communities, humanitarian and development actors, and Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners to support humanitarian objectives.
Represents the ICRC in internal and external meetings, coordination forums or field missions.
Ensures administrative, logistic and finance follow up, planning and reporting for the area under his responsibility as required.
Contributes to reporting, documentation, and informed decision-making.
Oversees day-to-day security management in the area under his responsibility.
Identifies opportunities for coordination and complementary action with Red Cross Red Crescent Movement partners.
Exercises significant autonomy in managing his tasks while contributing to program development and strategic planning.
