Experience:
Master`s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
At least 2-3 years of experience in waste management and recycling, preferably in a community development or public health setting. Prior USAID project experiences are encouraged to apply.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and waste management best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to environmental sustainability and social justice.
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, community members, and private sector partners.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
Nari Maitree (NM) is a women-led, non-governmental organization started its journey in 1983 and since then it has completed a journey of 40 years with an experience of working in various sectors like Health and nutrition, adolescent and youth, Gender equality and equity , Women empowerment, Child rights, livelihood, Education, water and sanitation, Humanitarian response, Climate change and food security.
Programme Background:
Nari Maitree is going to implement a two years’ long (2024 to 2026) health programme in Rajshahi and Rangpur titled: “Swasthya Maitree ”. The programme`s overall goal is to enhance the health and well-being of marginalized and underserved populations in the urban and peri-urban areas of Rajshahi and Rangpur districts by strengthening community health resilience, promoting sustainable waste management practices, and improving access to TB treatment, control, and awareness. Nari Maitree is implementing the "Swasthya Maitree" project with a sub-grant from BRAC, under the USAID Bangladesh America Maitree Activity (BAMA). Nari Maitree is inviting applications from qualified and committed development professionals for different positions as indicated below. All the positions will have 3 months’ probation period and all are contractual positions and are annually renewable based on funding and performance.

Job location: One for Rajshahi and One for Rangpur
Major Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive waste management plan for the project, including strategies for waste reduction, segregation, collection, and disposal.
Conduct training and awareness programs for project staff, beneficiaries, and community members on proper waste management practices.
Oversee the establishment and operation of community-based recycling centers, including training and support for community members.
Collaborate with local municipalities and private sector partners to ensure effective waste collection and recycling services.
Monitor and evaluate the project`s waste management activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and project goals.
Prepare regular reports on waste management activities, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
Promote environmentally sound practices and contribute to the project`s overall goal of improving health and environmental outcomes.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
