Job Context:
∎ USAID`s Nobo Jatra (NJ)/ New Beginning, a Food for Peace (FFP) Program for 5 years implemented by World Vision Bangladesh (WVB), World Food Programme (WFP) and Winrock International, in partnership with Bangladesh`s Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) is designed to reduce food insecurity and vulnerability for 856, 116 direct participants in 40 Unions of four Upazilas; Shyamnagar and Kaligonj under Satkhira District and Koyra and Dacope under Khulna District in the southwestern coastal area of Bangladesh.
∎ The contract duration is 06 Months.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implement the project activities, including strengthening Union and Ward WatSan Committees, supporting Community WASH Facilitators and Community WASH Promoters to complete hygiene behavior change programming, supporting community water management committees to manage and maintain water supply facilities, facilitating the rehabilitation and development of water facilities, facilitating the rehabilitation and construction of latrines to hygienic sanitation standard, and promoting and facilitating linkages between consumers and WASH businesses.
∎ Provide Training and monitoring Community WASH Facilitators and Community WASH Promoters.
∎ Ensure that WASH program benefits are sustained.
∎ Assist with the implementation of the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) component of the USAID funded, Nobo Jatra Program.
∎ The WASH Program Organizer will be responsible for carrying out the WASH activities of the Nobo Jatra Program, including strengthening Union and Ward WatSan Committees, supporting Community WASH Facilitators and Community WASH Promoters to complete hygiene behavior change programming, supporting community water management committees to manage and maintain water supply facilities, facilitating the rehabilitation and development of water facilities, facilitating the rehabilitation and construction of latrines to hygienic sanitation standard, and promoting and facilitating linkages between consumers and WASH businesses.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Ability to drive a motorbike.
∎ Valid motorbike driving license or willingness to attain one.
∎ Have understanding of project implementation.
∎ Have understanding of potable water provision, sanitation and hygiene behaviors.
∎ Oral and written communication skills in English and Bengali.
∎ Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Minimum of two years of experience implementing WASH projects.
∎ Experienced in training.
