Job Context:
∎ Following the massive displacement of more than 688,000 people into Bangladesh since end of August 2017, Tdh has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees, notably on nutrition, health, WASH and protection
∎ The WASH Infrastructure Officer will support the WASH National Coordinator to implement the infrastructural activities in the project location in Teknaf base.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
∎ Create work plan that prioritizes repair work based on urgency
∎ Carry out assessment according to schedule and specifications
∎ Conduct repairs in a timely and high quality way
∎ Supervise the quality of all workers’ & WASH Infrastructure Assistant output
∎ Prepare the draft BoQs, technical drawing and participate on the ToR of the construction
∎ Prepare tender documents for request for quotations if required
∎ Check the quality of vendor supplied materials
∎ Collect qualitative and quantitative data from community & FSM plant
∎ Update the line manager timely on existing situation, and repairs needed
∎ Support the coordination at field level with the local authority, the CiC, other sector actor and the beneficiaries
∎ Train the newly hired dislodging volunteers with the assistance of WASH Infrastructure Assistant
∎ Strong capacity to manage several teams and WASH Infrastructure Assistant
∎ Supervise and monitor all implemented/implementing hardware works and ensure the works advance according to timeline and works specifications
∎ Ensure that the contractor safeguards the safety of his employees and the community
∎ For hardware more sustainability purpose regular coordinate with the community mobilizer and others staffs at field
∎ OTHER TASK:
∎ Ability to accept new responsibilities or tasks if asked by the line manager
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum Bachelors in Civil Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant work or 5-10 years working experience with Diploma in Civil Engineering.
∎ Experience of construction for the rural structure communities such as WASH/FSM Plant
∎ Good understanding on Rohingya camp
∎ Good capacity to work under pressure
∎ Strong facilitation, analytical, negotiation, coordination, communications, and management skills
∎ Sound knowledge on rural/WASH Infrastructure
∎ Survey, Data Collection, IT Knowledge
∎ Hard working
∎ Sincere & Responsible
∎ Intelligent, Promptness
∎ Ability and willingness to work in team
∎ Experience of community conflict management
∎ Experience of working in multi-cultural environments an advantage
∎ Excellent writing and reporting skills
∎ Language skills: Local language & English skill will be preferable
