Job Context:
∎ Under the mentorship and direct supervision of the Senior Program Support Manager, the English-Chittagong & Bangla Translator/Interpreter provides support services on communication and documentation issues. With the mentorship of the WPE and Health Managers/Coordinators, the Translator/Interpreter, as part of this role, is required to commit in learning about the specific aspects of both the WPE,CP,Protection and health programs to ensure accuracy of their interpretation and translation.

∎ Work Location: Cox`s Bazar with travel
∎ Reporting To: Senior Program Support Manager
∎ Expected Start Date: At Earliest
∎ Duration: Up to December 31,2019 (with possibility of extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist in communication with IRC staff, local staff, beneficiaries and/or any other relevant parties;
∎ Assist in documentation;
∎ Assist in communication at meetings and workshops;
∎ Assist in interpreting and conducting visits at sites;
∎ Assist in interviewing potential candidates as needed;
∎ Support activities at the sites as assign;
∎ Miscellaneous written and verbal translation/interpreting duties as assigned;
∎ Support other programs as needed in consultant with WPE & Health programming;
∎ Provide secretarial, administrative and organization support to assigned programs.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 23 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Proven experience in translation/interpretation services;
∎ Experience of working with refugees and vulnerable groups of people, preferred;
∎ Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
∎ Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people;
∎ Computer skills for translation purposes, preferred;
∎ Work experience in an English-speaking context;
∎ Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and spoken) in English/Chittagong/Bangla/ (and Rohingya if possible) and ability to translate and interpret into English and vice versa;
∎ Person has knowledge on Chittagogian dialects will get preference.
Salary: Tk. 42000 (Monthly)
