Responsibilities & Context:
Job Context: The Textile & Fashion Designer will be directly involved in the design and development of fashion and home textile products, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary market trends. This role requires creative vision, practical product development skills, coordination of production, procurement of materials and accessories, and the ability to transform concepts into commercially viable collections.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop innovative collections for apparel, fashion accessories, and home textile products.
Research national and international trends in fashion, textiles, colors, materials, and consumer lifestyles.
Create mood boards, color palettes, patterns, prints, and product concepts.
Develop design specifications, technical drawings, artwork, and presentation materials.
Collaborate with artisans, production units, and design teams to ensure successful product development.
Oversee the entire product development process, from concept creation and sampling to refinement and final production.
Integrate appropriate techniques into modern, market-oriented products.
Ensure product quality, functionality, and commercial viability throughout development.
Take a proactive, hands-on approach to product development, problem-solving, and meeting critical deadlines for production and marketing.
Coordinate with related departments, production units, artisan groups, and external suppliers.
Source materials and identify suitable vendors when required.
Independently manage development timelines and coordinate with stakeholders.
Travel to production locations to provide technical guidance, follow up on sampling, ensure quality standards, and support product development activities.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment.
Prepare cost estimates, pricing, and budgeting for product lines.
