Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose

The Production Unit Manager will lead unit operations to ensure timely and quality production while supporting fair trade principles, women artisans, and sustainable livelihoods. The role combines operational excellence with a strong commitment to ethical and socially responsible practices.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise daily production and procurement activities to meet buyer orders.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational, HR, operational, and financial policies.

  • Support women artisans/ producers through fair wages, safe working conditions, and respectful treatment.

  • Manage raw material procurement, storage, and stock forecasting to prevent shortages.

  • Prepare and monitor production schedules and ensure the timely delivery of finished goods.

  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and order records; submit regular reports.

  • Calculate product costing and pricing to ensure sustainability and competitiveness.

  • Prepare unit budgets and submit monthly financial reports to the Head Office.

  • Work closely with the Producer Management Committee (PMC) and local stakeholders.

  • Promote environmentally responsible production and waste management practices.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and social impact.
