Responsibilities & Context:
Conduct laboratory testing of raw materials, dyes, and chemicals used in textile production.
Prepare dyeing solutions and carry out lab-scale dyeing, printing, and finishing trials.
Match colors accurately using spectrophotometer and visual assessment techniques.
Maintain shade consistency and troubleshoot color variations in production.
Perform quality control tests such as color fastness (washing, rubbing, light, perspiration).
Record and analyze test results, and prepare detailed lab reports.
Develop and standardize recipes for bulk production.
Assist production team in resolving dyeing and finishing issues.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment and instruments.
Maintain lab safety standards and proper handling of chemicals.
Keep updated records of formulations, samples, and test results.
Coordinate with R&D and production departments for new product development.
