Job Context:
∎ Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) is a non-government organization, working for Human Rights and Good Governance invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the position ofTechnical Officer- Nutrition for "Partnership for Resilient Livelihoods in CHT Region project".
∎ Working Conditions: The position is based in Bandarban, frequent travel is required to the other two project locations in Rangamati and Khagrachari.
∎ Project Brief:
∎ "The Partnership for Resilient Livelihoods in CHT Region"- a four-year project led by MJF, is aimed to contribute to poverty reduction and improving the livelihoods of the extremely poor households in the three Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) districts of Bangladesh. This initiative is supported by the EU and will benefit 20,000 households, and nearly 98,000 people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. MJF seeks a highly motivated and experienced Technical Officer- Nutrition to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the social protection component of the project, including planning, coordinating, and implementing related activities.
∎ Reporting: Project Coordinator-PRLC Project

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Technical Officer- Nutrition, as a member of the Partnership for Resilient Livelihoods in CHT Region project team, is responsible for providing technical support to implementing and monitoring the nutrition component of the project. This role involves supporting partner organisations in nutrition-focused activities across project areas, building their capacity to implement activities with beneficiaries and stakeholders, and promoting project activities through community mobilisation and engagement. The Technical Officer will coordinate nutrition programmes with other technical employees and cross-functional teams and inform stakeholders of programme results and effects using technical reports and presentations. The TO will provide technical guidanceto partner organisations' staff, volunteers, paramedics, and community health promoters. H/Swill maintain effective communications and contacts with the different line departments of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, such as UHC, UH & FWC, agriculture and livestock department, and the District and Upazila Nutrition Coordination Committees (DNCC & UNCC).
∎ Key responsibilities:
∎ Technical Officer- Nutrition in to implementing all planned activities of the nutrition component of the project in line with best practices.
∎ Lead the mapping of the existing local level nutrition system and available services in the project sites.
∎ Provide technical support to the partner organisations to implement the nutrition component in the project areas.
∎ Identify social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) issues at the local level, assist in developing SBCC materials, and support the development of a session plan and the facilitation of SBBC sessions with various groups.
∎ Facilitate community mobilisation and engagement to promote participation in nutrition focus activities of PRLC project
∎ Support to review and update training curriculum and modules of PRLC project
∎ Develop action plan in line with implementation plan of the project
∎ Support to locate SAM and MAM children and develop food and financial package for them and track their development
∎ Support to organise different events like Breast Feeding Week, Vitamin A and Immunization Week
∎ Facilitate training for volunteers, paramedics, CNHP workers organised by MJF and PNGOs
∎ Provide technical support and capacity building to partners and stakeholders in planning and implementation of their activities;
∎ Support partner organisations in developing a comprehensive plan and conducting household census
∎ Provide technical support to the community clinic management group, local level nutrition committees, adolescents club, Maa ebong Sishu forum.
∎ Regular monitoring of partners' field level activities and provide feedback effectively
∎ Assist in the implementation of nutrition initiatives by working with other health and nutrition stakeholders, such as local government representatives, health professionals, and community leaders.
∎ Monitor and evaluate nutrition-related activities on a regular basis to assess the effectiveness of intervention and identify areas for development.
∎ Support to develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems to track progress and impact of PRLC project.
∎ Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate program results and impact to stakeholders.
∎ Collaborate with other technical staff and cross-functional teams to ensure that nutrition programs are integrated with other relevant programs and initiatives.
∎ Maintain effective communications and contacts with the line departments like UHC, UH, and FWC, the agriculture department, and the District and Upazila Nutrition Coordination Committees (DNCC and UNCC).
∎ Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in implementing nutrition programmes, preferably in the context of poverty reduction
∎ Ability to manage process effectively, and to work under pressure and maintain strict deadlines.
∎ Having computer skill on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Utilities.
∎ Experience in training/workshop facilitation.
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication skill and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
∎ Working knowledge on any of the significant CHT local languages would be an added advantage.
∎ Good command both in English & Bangla
∎ Knowledge of Coordination, leadership, community engagement and relationship building
∎ Knowledge and experience in working with Local Government Institutions and line departments
∎ Good networking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
∎ Experiences in working with a partnership approach
∎ Good report-writing and presentation skills
∎ Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
∎ Ability to work independently and in a team
∎ Ability to travel and work in remote areas of CHT
∎ Supportive and committed to work for vulnerable groups, values oriented and gender sensitive displays sensitivity and adaptability on cultural diversity, gender, religion, nationality and age
∎ Good knowledge on diversity and sensitivity of CHT
∎ Able to drive Motor Cycle and have valid driving license or in process
