Experience:
Bachelor/master’s degree in Animal Husbandry. Preferably in DVM or related discipline with 03 years working experience in livestock related livelihood intervention in NGO development field.
Ability to provide effective technical supervision, field guidance and capacity building to staff and beneficiaries.
Possession of a valid Motorcycle Driving License is mandatory.
Both males and females are allowed to apply.
Self-directed and able to lead project team, producer/Farmer group.
A mature outlook and strong commitment to work with NGO.
Must be skilled in data collection, analysis, preparing report.
Experience of networking and mobilization of local communities.
Strong knowledge on livestock technologies and provide support to the group and team members·
Skilled on module development, IEC, BCC materials and facilitate different type of training·
Ability to communicate in local dialect (Chittagongian Dialect) will be an asset.
Job Context and Job Responsibilities:
The Technical Officer-livestock will be responsible for delivering extension services to farmers, providing technical assistance, conducting surveys, demonstrations, and field visits to promote the adoption of improved breeding and management practices, and will work closely with other staff in the project, develop farmer’s capacity, provide technical support to farmers, effective network and coordination with sever stakeholders etc. The Technical Officer-Livestock will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Technical Officer-Livestock will facilitate to expanding productivity of the beneficiaries by improve technologies and technical skills.
Facilitate the development of commercial linkages between farmer/entrepreneur’s, buyers, processors and other market actors.
Responsible for capacity building of the project team members as well as beneficiaries.
Build collaboration with the trader’s and development agencies and other support services to promote value chain integration, quality and efficiency as well as sustainable business models in the livestock sector.
Provide technical support on nutrition and animal health, production, reduced costs of doing business for the farmer and increased income, better connection to markets through multiple distribution channels and products (meat, milk, breeders, animal feed).
Close Coordination with Department of Livestock, Union parishad vet. Agent, BNFs, CMs and Technical Officer-Marketing for ensure quality of work and better business.
Develop training module, IEC & BCC materials, project training plan, organize and facilitate different training and guide to the team members for achieving project goal.
Making livestock vaccinator for easily availability and arrangement vaccination campaign at working area & visiting different poultry farm frequently & give technical support (Feeding, Housing & Disease management).
Advise producers on farming techniques and management to improve the efficiency and sustainability of farms and related livestock enterprises.
Build linkage among the beneficiaries, service providers, Govt. department and private sectors for accessing their services.
Perform professionalism of large, small ruminants and poultry animals to provide herd management, Bio-security maintain, Veterinary treatments, Post-mortem analysis and routine vaccination program by vaccinator.
Provide support to field team members to distribute inputs and organize different event at field level with the collaboration of other TOs.
Assist Community Mobilizer to collect base line-end line data by using Kobo tool kit, Data analysis.
Prepare different type of report, collect case study and perform other duties as assigned by Project Coordinator.
Responsible to do any other task assigned by management.

Ensure adherence to humanitarian principles, safeguarding, and PSEA policies.
Support risk identification and mitigation at field level.
