Job Context:
∎ Location: Based in Maheshkhali.
∎ Duration: Duration of the Contract will be up to April 30, 2021.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsibility # 1: Technical supervision of the MPCS repair and improvement of quality of the physical learning environment:
∎ Conduct a comprehensive assessment of each targeted shelter and make an inventory of the works (both repair works and furniture for the school) to be done so that it can be used a checklist.
∎ Support Project Coordinator and Senior Procurement and Logistics Officer in putting together the clauses and conditions (designs, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities) for procurement call of repair and refurbishment works.
∎ Prepare a detailed implementation work plan in consultation with project staff and line management, and maintain regular tracking with necessary adjustments to ensure timely completion of all shelter improvement activities.
∎ Coordinate and manage MPCSs repair including environmental mitigation measures, installing WASH facilities, improving physical conditions of the building and school furniture (chairs, benches, tables, doors, and windows) and access routes to the shelters.
∎ Ensure quality control of all shelter and physical learning environment improvement activities in the host community as per the Cyclone Shelter Policy and Ministry of Primary and Mass Education's Fourth Primary Education Development (PEDP4) Program standards
∎ Provide technical direction and ensure high quality of the structural activities matched with PRERONA proposal.
∎ Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth completion of repair and refurbishment works.
∎ Develop a comprehensive training module on cyclone shelter management and deliver the training to MPCSs management committees and other stakeholders.
∎ Provide day to oversight to the Sr. DRR and Capacity Building Officer and Field Facilitators in his base, with constant coordination with the Technical Coordinator (DRR) who will be based in another sub-district.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years professional experience for candidates with Bachelor in Civil Engineering and 6 years professional experience for candidates with Diploma in Civil Engineer or in repair/construction of shelters and/or repair/construction of public buildings.
∎ Preferably Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering for deserving candidates.
∎ Experience working in shelter and or DRR program is an added advantage.
∎ Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
∎ Gender awareness and a commitment to gender equality.
∎ Experience in maintaining stakeholder relations with local government, administration and civil society actors.
∎ Strong communication skill in both verbal and written in English and Bangla.
∎ Computer skills on computer software e. g MS office, internet and AutoCAD.
