Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Work with internal departments to ensure compliance with Company's corporate code of conduct and all relevant local laws and regulations.
∎ Maintain a track record of all certificates, permits and approvals needed to operate as a business and ensure these are renewed on time.
∎ Book, prepare for, assist, and follow up audits and assessments.
∎ Act as contact point for clients at Company for sustainability-related matters
∎ .Arrange regular training on sustainability standards and best practices.
∎ Plan for, conduct and follow up on fire and emergency drills as relevant.
∎ Track social and environmental sustainability goals and KPIs, evaluate performance and support continuous improvement.
∎ Develop and support local sustainability initiatives that positively impact people and the planet.
∎ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for various internal and external audiences.
∎ Review compliance audit reports, evaluate findings, questions, and action plans.
∎ Build an internal controls system to ensure risks / issues are addressed timely and progress reported regularly.
∎ Develop a mechanism to escalate any serious or zero tolerance findings.
∎ Develop a recognition / reward system to reinforce strong performance.
∎ Own the relationship with Company clients for all issues related to social and environmental sustainability; work closely with Company sales team and customers' sustainability and compliance counterparts.
∎ Keep track of new customer requirements and updates and work with internal stakeholders to address and adjust practices accordingly.
