Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum Class 8 (Eight) passed with a minimum capability of reading and writing in Bengali and possessing good health and physique.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Cleanliness, maintenance, upkeep and security of his assigned hospital ship including the hospital area, houseboat, patient sheds and their vicinity.
∎ Assisting in any other duty/activity of the floating hospital ships as delegated.
∎ He shall be under the overall control of the Fleet Management Department in HO.
∎ His local control shall be the Administrator and/Master of the ship.
∎ He shall be accountable and responsible to the Administrator and/Master of the ship for his day-to-day activities, duties and work performance.
∎ He shall be mainly responsible for cleaning and maintenance of his assigned hospital ship including the hospital area, houseboat, patient sheds and their vicinity as well as delegation for security duty as directed or assigned by the Master/Administrator of the ship.
∎ He may be required or directed to clean the toilets in the hospital ship.
∎ He shall assist in setting up tube well for drinking water, tents/sheds for patients for medical camps/services and dismantling and storage as required or ordered or delegated by Master/Administrator.
∎ Further, he shall undertake the laundry and ironing of hospital linen as required or ordered or delegated by Master/Administrator, when required.
∎ In addition, he shall support medical team/staff whenever required or ordered or delegated by Master/Administrator.
∎ Additionally, he is required to assist Cook of hospital ship & houseboat in the galley & during visits by VIPs/HO officials/other visitors dining as required/ordered by Master/Administrator.
∎ He is also required additionally to assist ship’s Engine Driver & Electrician when required for cleanliness and maintenance works whenever required or ordered or delegated by Master/Administrator.
∎ He is liable for the proper cleanliness and maintenance of own individual living area on board and bed linen, blankets etc. issued to him.
∎ He can be delegated to undertake any other additional duty as required or directed by the relevant higher authority appropriate to his competency or grade and can be transferred from ship to ship as per operational requirement or convenience of Fleet Management Department in a post appropriate to his competency or grade.
∎ He will always be required to observe and uphold Friendship’s Code of Ethics, Policies & Guidelines, Rules & Regulations, Personnel & Confidentiality Policies.
