Job Context:
∎ This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in IRC`s safeguarding implementation. In your role as Senior Technical Officer- Safeguarding, you will be responsible for the implementation of safeguarding SoP at IRC offices and program areas, with specific attention to incentive worker and local implementing partner. This position will also support organizational assessment, which maps organizational safeguarding capacity and demand, capacity building initiative and safeguarding service delivery to the client. You will report to the Senior GEDI Coordinator and work closely with HR, Operations and MEAL team siting at Ukhiya office. You will have support from country safeguarding resource team, as well as the Safeguarding Advisor for Asia.

∎ Contract Length: Till 31 December 2023 (with possibility of extension)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Highlights of Key Responsibilities
∎ Track and support the implementation of safeguarding SoP at office and facilities
∎ Design capacity development plan for incentive worker and orient the incentive worker for session facilitation
∎ Monitor the implementation of safeguarding at facility level, identify gaps and share recommendations
∎ Work closely with Accountability team to insure comprehensive client response and feedback mechanism is established at our facilities in Rohingya camp and host communities, develop relevant MIS tools to monitor progress as necessary
∎ Organize training/orientation for the volunteers (digital data management and safeguarding technical)
∎ Coordinate with communication team and ensure safeguarding IEC is printed and visualized at IRC offices and facilities
∎ Work with HR to collect and share update data of the incentive worker to the volunteers who directly work at the ground level
∎ Supervise, follow up and monitor the progress of the volunteers and update safeguarding resource pool member on a monthly basis
∎ Support volunteers in developing a capacity development plan for the incentive worker from all IRC program in Tecknaf and Ukhiya camps
∎ Attend training/orientation to develop technical understand and knowledge on safeguarding and gender.
∎ Staff Supervision and Development:
∎ No direct report but the position needs to work with all department so maintaining open, supportive, and professional relationships with all team members (IRC and partner organization) is must
∎ Ensure regular communication and close collaboration with incentive worker who going to roll out the session with around 500 incentive workers at the facility level
∎ Coordination & Representation:
∎ Maintain effective working relationships with HR, Operations and MEAL siting at Ukhiya office
∎ Represent at the camp based PSEA coordination group or other necessary platform related to safeguarding
∎ Other Duties:
∎ Extent additional support to the program team for any emergency/urgent assignments, especially projects designed during and after emergencies.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 18 to 60 years
∎ At least 2-3 years of experience is needed in the field of protection programming, HR capacity building or safeguarding focal point role in any NGO, INGO or private organizations.
∎ Professional experience in training facilitation, curriculum development and progress monitoring are desirable.
∎ University degree in relevant field or work experience
∎ Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients all times is essential
∎ Experience facilitating trainings and workshops and mentoring others
∎ Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting
∎ Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
∎ Personal qualities: works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
∎ Excellent communication and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with survivors of all ages, background and diversity
∎ Strengths in listening, empathy, flexibility, and creativity
∎ Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
∎ People who are familiar with local culture and local dialects will get preference
