Job Context:
∎ IRC is leading in the implementation of Protection Mainstreaming. The Sr. Protection Mainstreaming Officer will lead the implementation process by ensuing that protection mainstreaming is core in all IRC and Partner Programs. The position will develop/ adapt existing tools to the context. (S)He will be responsible for training Protection Focal Points in all Partner organization. The role will supervise and also conduct field visits to conduct Protection Mainstreaming assessments and site visits. Oversee the implementation of Mainstreaming Action Plan.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Highlights of Key Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and Adapt existing tools to ensure up to date and technically sound mechanisms are in place for the protection mainstreaming program
∎ Identify along with partners and train Protection Mainstreaming Focal Points for each Partner to conduct protection mainstreaming on a regular basis
∎ Ensure training plans and reports are prepared including donor reports;
∎ Assist to deliver trainings to Internal and Partner staff members on protection principles, protection mainstreaming, accountability to affected populations, and other relevant topics
∎ Support the protection mainstreaming Officers to conduct field visits to Partner sites, areas of operation, centers, and other areas where IRC conducts activities to offer support
∎ Compile information from protection mainstreaming focal points and provide monthly reports to the legal manager and the relevant thematic manager with observations and recommendations to improve the protection environment
∎ Ensure that ethical and sound data collection and information management is implemented for appropriate data analysis, planning, evaluation, and advocacy; working closely with the Senior Protection Manager and the Monitoring Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team.
∎ In collaboration with the legal Manager, ensure smooth management and integration of project work plans and budgets procurement plans, timely recruitment, and accurate reporting in accordance with IRC and donor regulations;
∎ Liaise with relevant public authorities and service providers in order to foster effective collaboration and encourage a conducive protection environment for affected populations and encourage national interest and ownership in protection of beneficiaries
∎ Staff Support:
∎ Support with the hiring, supervising, and build the capacity of Protection Mainstreaming Officers in relevant technical and management competencies.
∎ Provide technical mentorship, on the job mentoring and coaching ongoing training and targeted technical capacity building for the protection mainstreaming team
∎ Put capacity development plans in place for the protection mainstreaming teams based on documented capacity needs assessments exercise.
∎ Approve and manage all time, attendance and leave requests to ensure adequate departmental coverage. Ensure monthly, accurate timesheet submission and carry out probationary reviews.
∎ As required identify staff performance issues and work with Human Resources to document and address these in accordance with the National Staff Employment Policies.
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and mentorship to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
∎ Representation and Coordination:
∎ Dedicatedly develop and maintain effective working relationships with other key partners, including donors, government actors, UN agencies, international and local NGOs, and other relevant actors; establishing IRC as one of the leaders in protection.
∎ Dedicatedly seek to establish and develop partnerships and collaborate with the Bangladeshi and Rohingya civil society and local partners.
∎ Represent the IRC in monthly protection mainstreaming coordination meetings ensuring full participation and engagement of implementing partners.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 4 years’ experience of working in protection field preferably with an International NGO
∎ Extensive experience in conducting training
∎ Familiarity with Protection Mainstreaming, Toolkit, Mainstreaming Checklist and action plan
∎ Post holder will hold deep understanding and experience in General Protection, Child Protection, or Gender and inclusion
∎ Good report writing skills
∎ Demonstrated interpersonal skills and respect for people from different cultures and backgrounds and especially those with special needs and other vulnerabilities
∎ Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
∎ Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
∎ Comfortable using information technology (Computers, Smartphones and Tablets) and MS Office, Power point, Word and Excel
∎ Good verbal & oral communication skills in English and Bangla
∎ Good command of English (written and oral) is preferred
∎ Knowledge of the local language is desired
Salary: Tk. 70200 (Monthly)
